SPIRITUAL WIVES AND HUSBANDS: A BIBLICAL PERSPECTIVE

Image
By Rev.Michael Benson Ajayi  John 6:56-57 KJV  “He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him. As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me” Matt 26:26 NIV "While they were eating, Jesus took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying, "Take and eat; this is my body."       The idea that a born again Christian can be married to a spiritual wife or have a spiritual husband runs contrary to the concept of the holy communion : the most sacred ritual in Christianity . This idea is a carryover of pagan doctrines mostly among African communities where it is believed that a woman for instance could be dedicated by her family to the worship of a deity and from that moment she becomes the property of that deity , she is considered  married to that deity and if she gets pregnant by the permission of the priest , her offspring...

TOTAL FREEDOM FROM EVIL CYCLES AND GENERATIONAL CURSES

Image
BY Rev. Michael Benson Ajayi John 9:2 AMP  “ His disciples asked Him, Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he should be born blind? ”            Jesus' claim to divinity pitched him at loggerhead against the religious people of His time (John8:58-59) therefore miracles where a necessary tool to authenticate His claims .These miracles were unlike those of the magicians who mesmerised crowds without promoting the need for a personal relationship with God. Giving sight to a man born without eyes was something only God could do.                It is generally believed by most proponents of  Jewish theology and traditionalists that God's punishment for the sins of one ’ s ancestors or parents extends to the  great -grand children Thus, being born blind was God ’ s punishment for the sins of the parents:in effect the blind man wa...

CUSTODIANS OF THE MYSTERIES OF GOD'S KINGDOM

Image
By Rev. Michael Benson Ajayi Matt 13:11-12 KJV  “ He answered and said unto them, because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven , but to them it is not given. For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath. ”              The social construct of any people group is determined by the ideologies upon which that society is built . The instability in the society today is as a result of the deficiency of truth in what is commonly termed 'wisdom'. Truth is absolute in nature and agrees with fact therefore, there shouldn ’ t be more than one interpretation of truth; for example one multiplied by zero should be zero regardless of whatever clime we find ourselves. Unfortunately, the religions of the world have different meaning to truth. What is true in one place does not hold water in ...

SEE BEYOND THE MOUNTAINS OF LIFE

Image
By Rev. Michael Benson Ajayi  Luke 12:54-55 NKJV   “ Then He also said to the multitudes, "Whenever you see a cloud rising out of the west, immediately you say, 'A shower is coming'; and so it is.        The use of extraterrestrial objects such as the stars ,moon and  meteorological analysis in the interpretation of spiritual events was common in Jesus' time as it is today. However , Jesus spoke against such in Luke 17:20-21 KJV  “ ...The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you. ”           Predictions about the kingdom of God and the end times have become a source of fear and frustration to many. Salvation is by love not fear and God ’ s kingdom cannot be detected with scientific instruments ,it is spiritual and cannot be interpreted by the movement of stars, asteroi...

HOW TO INCREASE YOUR CAPACITY TO RECEIVE IN ABUNDANCE

Image
By Rev. Michael Benson Ajayi   Matt 25:15 KJV  “ And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey. ”     Each servant was given talents according to their productive capacity ; it was in accordance to their investment ability. Life is a business , Jesus said in Luke 2:49-50 NKJV  “…  Did you not know that I must be about My Father's business?" The word 'business' is a Greek word  ‘ huperperisseuo ’  which means to cause someone to overflow with something, to be present in (greater) abundance.                    We consciously or unconsciously engage in the business of exchange of virtues spiritually, emotionally, intellectually and materially on a daily bases. This is what played out in the encounter between Elisha and the poor widow ...

IT SHALL BE WELL WITH YOU

Image
By. Michael Benson Ajayi Mark 8:24-26 NKJV  “ And he looked up and said, "I see men like trees, walking." Then He put His hands on his eyes again and made him look up. And he was restored and saw everyone clearly.         Jesus ’  healing methods were a reflection of God ’ s love for us, they were very unconventional: He laid hands, prophesied and in this case used saliva therapy .He did not operate by any religious model or template. Each miracle was unique in nature and with a message ; the scripture says Jesus took the blind man out of town and spat on his eyes after which he asked to know if he could see, it took two treatments before the desired result was achieved. This is contrary to what is observed in many religious miracle arenas  were people are humiliated openly in the public domain and made a spectacle of with digital theater effects for the world's media ;  Jesus did all he could do to maintain the di...

IN FELLOWSHIP WE ARE PROVOKED

Image
By Rev.Michael Benson Ajayi  Heb 10:24-25 KJV “And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.”     Followers of Jesus Christ are called to be symbols and dispensers of God’s unconditional love. He gave us a new commandment (John13:34) haven fulfilled the Old Testament; this commandment is centered on love for one’s neighbor as yourself(Gal.5:14) .This is contrary to what religion preaches, Matt 5:38-46  NKJV Says "You have heard that it was said, 'An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.'   But I tell you not to resist an evil person. But whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also.  If anyone wants to sue you and take away your tunic, let him have your cloak also.  And whoever compels you to go one mile, go with him two. ...

PRINCIPLES OF LIVING BY DIVINE FAVOUR

Image
By Rev. Michael Benson Ajayi Ex 3:20-22 NKJV  “ And I will give this people favor in the sight of the Egyptians; and it shall be, when you go, that you shall not go empty-handed. ”               The word  ‘ favour ’  used in this scripture is the Hebrew word  ‘ chen ’  and it means graciousness, kindness, beauty, pleasant, precious. Therefore, when a person is operating under divine favour he or she becomes a recipient of extraordinary goodwill .           In the New Testament,  ‘ favour ’  is used interchangeably with the word  ‘ grace ’ .  It is our insurance policy against failure or defeat in our mission to the spread the gospel . It is the covenant right of every believer in Christ however, not all believers in Christ work in divine favour as they ought to . The scriptures say in James NKJV 4:6 “ But  He gives more ...

THIS IS YOUR GREATEST ASSET.

Image
By Rev.Michael Benson Ajayi  Num 24:10-14 “King Balak flew into a rage against Balaam. He angrily clapped his hands and shouted, "I called you to curse my enemies! Instead, you have blessed them three times.  Now get out of here! Go back home! I promised to reward you richly, but the Lord has kept you from your reward."  Balaam told Balak, "Don't you remember what I told your messengers? I said, 'Even if Balak were to give me his palace filled with silver and gold, I would be powerless to do anything against the will of the Lord.' I told you that I could say only what the Lord says! “       Prophet Balaam like every servant of the lord hard his weaknesses, there is no servant of the lord who has not erred (Ecc.7:20) it is what makes the mercy of God indispensable to our existence. But in this case Balaam had a choice to turn against God and be rich beyond his wildest dream or remain with the truth and face the consequences.  He...

THE DANGER OF USING COMPLAINTS AS A MEANS OF ESCAPING RESPONSIBILITIES

Image
Rev. Michael Benson Ajayi   Num 13:32-33 “And they spread among the Israelites a bad report about the land they had explored. They said, "The land we explored devours those living in it. All the people we saw there are of great size. Num 14:2-4 NIV “All the Israelites grumbled against Moses and Aaron, and the whole assembly said to them, "If only we had died in Egypt! Or in this desert!  Why is the Lord bringing us to this land only to let us fall by the sword? Our wives and children will be taken as plunder. Wouldn't it be better for us to go back to Egypt?"  And they said to each other, "We should choose a leader and go back to Egypt."      Faith always places a demand on us . It comes with responsibilities and faith without responsibilities is dead. Most persons have been made to believe miracles always comes easy and as such all one needs to do is pray , fast and wait and if nothing happens increase the fasting and the prayer until you rece...

COMPLAINING HINDERS GRACE FOR PRESERVATION

Image
Rev.Michael Benson Ajayi Num 11:1-2 ,4, 11-15 TLB “The people were soon complaining about all their misfortunes, and the Lord heard them. His anger flared out against them because of their complaints , so the fire of the Lord began destroying those at the far end of the camp. They screamed to Moses for help, and when he prayed for them the fire stopped. …the Egyptians who had come with them began to long for the good things of Egypt. Moses said to the Lord, "Why pick on me, to give me the burden of a people like this?  Are they my children? Am I their father? Is that why you have given me the job of nursing them along like babies until we get to the land you promised their ancestors? Where am I supposed to get meat for all these people? For they weep to me saying, 'Give us meat!' I can't carry this nation by myself! The load is far too heavy!  If you are going to treat me like this, please kill me right now; it will be a kindness! Let me out of this impossible si...

GOD DOES NOT DELIGHT IN SACRIFICES: THEY FRUSTRATE DIVINE PURPOSE

Image
By Rev.Michael Benson Ajayi  1 Sam 15:15,20-22, KJV “And Saul said, They have brought them from the Amalekites: for  the people  spared the best of the sheep and of the oxen, to sacrifice unto the Lord thy God; and the rest we have utterly destroyed. And Saul said unto Samuel, Yea, I have obeyed the voice of the Lord, and have gone the way which the Lord sent me, and have brought Agag the king of Amalek, and have utterly destroyed the Amalekites. But  the people  took of the spoil, sheep and oxen, the chief of the things which should have been utterly destroyed, to sacrifice unto the Lord thy God in Gilgal.  And Samuel said, Hath the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams”.       It is rare to attend a church meeting without experiencing the endless  requests from preachers demanding for...
