By Rev.Michael Benson Ajayi  2 Tim 2:15 KJV  “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth”.       The word ‘study’ is the Greek word ‘spoudazo’ it means: to use speed, to make effort, be prompt or earnest: do (give) diligence, be diligent , endeavour, labour. This implies that the studying of God’s word requires hard work, diligence and promptness. It requires the analysis of every word individually and it’s grammatical structure, biographical illustrations, historicity of each statement, authentication of authorship of each book, topical analysis and its relevance to present day life.  This is what it means to rightly dividing the word of truth. "   This was the situation between the two  brothers in Luke 12.13,  they had received an inheritance from their father with one probably having a larger share than the other. It is common for parents to will their properties based on sentimental values attached to each child.
