JESUS' DEATH :NECESSARY AND INTENTIONAL FOR SALVATION (Part 1)
By Rev Michael Benson Ajayi
'"Sacrifice and offering you did not desire— but my ears you have opened— burnt offerings and sin offerings you did not require.
Then I said, “Here I am, I have come— it is written about me in the scroll.
I desire to do your will, my God; your law is within my heart" (Psalm 40:6 -8).
The above scripture is the revelation of Jesus Christ as given to prophet king David by the Holy Spirit. This was fulfilled in the new testament scripture
"Therefore, when Christ came into the world, he said: ' Sacrifice and offering you did not desire, but a body you prepared for me; with burnt offerings and sin offerings you were not pleased.'
"Then I said, ‘Here I am—it is written about me in the scroll— I have come to do your will, my God.’”
"First he said, 'Sacrifices and offerings, burnt offerings and sin offerings you did not desire, nor were you pleased with them'—though they were offered in accordance with the law. Then he said, 'Here I am, I have come to do your will.' He sets aside the first to establish the second. And by that will, we have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all" (Hebrews 10:5–10).
MOSES PROPHESY ABOUT JESUS THE MESSIAH .
Moses prophesied concerning the Messiah in Deuteronomy 18:15-22.
Deuteronomy 18:15 The LORD thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken;
Deuteronomy 18:16 According to all that thou desiredst of the LORD thy God in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying, Let me not hear again the voice of the LORD my God, neither let me see this great fire any more, that I die not.
Deuteronomy 18:17 And the LORD said unto me, They have well spoken that which they have spoken.
Deuteronomy 18:18 I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.
Deuteronomy 18:19 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him.
Moses said the prophet would be like him, a man of power and divine authority as God ( God declared Moses to be God Exodus 4:16 Moses was given God's power of attorney) separated the sea, Jesus Christ walk on the sea, Jesus and Moses fed thousands and healed miraculously .Nobody fits this description but Jesus Christ. Both did not suffer decay at death . Their graves are empty .
