GOSSIP HINDERS BREAKTHROUGHS

“Do not spread slanderous gossip among your people. “Do not stand idly by when your neighbor’s life is threatened. I am the Lord . “Do not nurse hatred in your heart for any of your relatives. Confront people directly so you will not be held guilty for their sin." Leviticus 19:16‭-‬17 NLTBible 

   The English dictionary defines 'gossip' or 'gossiping' as :a casual or unconstrained conversation or reports about other people, typically involving details which are not confirmed as true. 

      It defines 'slander' as : the action or crime of making a false spoken statement damaging to a person's reputation. 

      Nations  have gone to war against each other on account of gossips or slander . It is for this reason that God frowns at it. 

    It is an abomination against God to raise a false report against a child of God. The scriptures says “You must not pass along false rumors. You must not cooperate with evil people by lying on the witness stand. "Exodus 23:1 NLTBible and  " Believers, do not speak against or slander one another. He who speaks [self-righteously] against a brother or judges his brother [hypocritically], speaks against the Law and judges the Law. If you judge the Law, you are not a doer of the Law but a judge of it. James 4:11 AMPBible 

   Side talks against a believer frustrates the anointing of God's favour upon God's people . It is best to discuss with a person than in their absence, phone conference calls can be put across to verify issues to avoid misunderstanding or twisting of facts   " Argue your case with your neighbor himself [before you go to court]; And do not reveal another’s secret,"Proverbs 25:9 AMPBible . Gossiping results in a fall in grace resulting in painful failures at the edge of breakthroughs  The Corinthian church suffered from divisions , emotional crisis  and spiritual stagnation on account of slander and gossips ( 1 Cor 3:3, 2Cor.12:20 ). 

   Gossiping and slandering opens the doors to demonic attacks , it is a confirmation of  ignorance of God's word and the lack of true faith , wisdom and love in a person.  " He who hides hatred has lying lips, And he who spreads slander is a fool." Proverbs 10:18 AMP Bible.  ( See 1Tim 5:11-13 )  Gossiping and slanders result in lack of respect  exposing a person to public humiliation ,the Bible describes such a person's disposition as ' vain ' (James 1:26 ) 

     Gossiping and slandering prevents a person from finding love in a marriage or relationship resulting in marital infidelity. Do not fraternize with gossips for the sake of your marriage ( Psalm 41:7, 38:12) Gossiping is of the devil , the scriptures says "Even so must their wives be grave, not slanderers, sober, faithful in all things. 1 Timothy 3:11 Kjv bible.  The word 'slanderous ' is the Greek word diabolos which means : he who opposes God -Satan. Satan comes to steal , kill and destroy. Gossiping  and slandering removes our spiritual protective shield thus giving room for demonic attacks . 

   God punishes gossips ,tale bearers and slanderers. Titus 1:10,11 says their  " ...mouths must be stopped ' indicating poverty . We eat and speak with our mouths . Poverty prevents this from happening . Gossiping separates a gossip from people of great wealth and influence ( Prov. 25:23 ) 

   Gossips and slanderers are to be avoided if one must enjoy divine favour "I will not tolerate people who slander their neighbors. I will not endure conceit and pride.
Psalms 101:5 NLTBible Gossips and slanderers shall answer to God on judgement day (Matt12;36-37). 
Prayer ; Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you , I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation ,I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Ghost and power to heal broken families in Jesus name.

On investigation it was discovered the church suffered from a vicious cycle of evil family  patterns. They were not enjoying the fruits of the salvation experience . An example of evil family patterns is that of King David who defiled Uriah's wife ,murdered him and his son Absalom murdered his brother Amnon (2Sam13) dethroned him and defiled his concubines openly (2Samuel16). His son Amnon defiled his sister Tamar (2Sam.13) and so on yet David was the anointed of the Lord....

COMMON CAUSES OF DISUNITY.

Proverbs 29:22 NLTBible        Disunity is defined as : disagreement and conflict within a group. It is the greatest hindrance to the promotion of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Disunity creates an avenue for Satan to promote sin.       The causes of disunity are not farfetched ,they include : Unhealthy Crave for power or self- promotion. Whenever there is an unhealthy pursuit of influence in a family or group it results in resistance. Self-promotion gives birth to unfair practices and injustices. CONSEQUENCES OF LACK OF FAITH

Believe!”John 20:27 NLTBible     Faith is the guarantee of the manifestation an unseen reality . It is the reason behind the hope we have in God and the fulfilment of his promises. It is the substance ( title deed) of things hoped for ,the evidence of things not seen (Hebrew 11:1) .The Bible warns against not having faith in God. Lack of faith is equal to calling God a liar and untrustworthy.
