STEALING RESULTS IN DIFFICULT TO BREAK CURSES
By Rev Michael Benson Ajayi
" I looked up again and saw a scroll flying through the air.
“What do you see?” the angel asked.“I see a flying scroll,” I replied. “It appears to be about 30 feet long and 15 feet wide.”
Then he said to me, “This scroll contains the curse that is going out over the entire land. One side of the scroll says that those who steal will be banished from the land; the other side says that those who swear falsely will be banished from the land.
And this is what the lord of Heaven’s Armies says: I am sending this curse into the house of every thief and into the house of everyone who swears falsely using my name. And my curse will remain in that house and completely destroy it—even its timbers and stones.”
Then the angel who was talking with me came forward and said, “Look up and see what’s coming.” Zechariah 5:1-5
The word 'curse' as used in this text is the Hebrew word âlâh it means an oath of covenant , an imprecation: - cursing, execration, oath, swearing. Imprecation means a spoken curse. Execration means something detested - being hated for no reason . The is a major reason for the near -success -syndrome.
These are the consequences of a nation that celebrates thieves . Persons who refuse to steal while in public or private office are often relegated to the background by their communities and church leaders for depriving them of the opportunity of sharing in the loot .
A Nigerian female celebrity preacher on her YouTube channel prophesied that God will bring about breakthroughs for her followers either legitimately or illegally and they all echoed a resounding . Amen. This is a mockery of the word of God and a reason behind the rise in crime and poverty in our communities . Righteousness exalts a nation and sin is a reproach to any people ( Prov.14:34)
