Less Demon Talk And More God Consciousness
DEMONS
ARE AFRAID OF YOU
Less Demon Talk And More God Consciousness
Luke
10:20 - "Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject
unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven."
It is interesting to know that these three characters,
Judas Iscariot, Thomas , and Peter who betrayed Jesus in one way or the other
were among those who casted out evil spirits.
That is to say, any follower of Jesus Christ can cast out demons. It is
one of our rights as God’s
people (Mark16:17) despite our imperfections like the aforementioned
characters.
Any born again Christian can cast out
devils. It does not require special human training from a special school though
many religious folks have made it look that way. It is as easy as saying as in
16:18 NIV "In the name of Jesus Christ I command you to come out of
her!" At that moment the spirit left her”
It has to be done in faith in the name of Jesus
Christ. That was why the disciples were amazed at the ease with which demons responded
to them. Introducing man- made techniques into the process of casting out
demons is counterproductive and harmful .
Demonic
activities are being masqueraded as Holy Ghost church activities as apostle
Paul found out, it comes in the form of foretelling events (seeing visions) as
in the case of the girl in Acts 16:16-17” She earned a great deal of money for her owners by
fortune-telling. This girl followed Paul
and the rest of us, shouting, "These men are servants of the Most High
God, who are telling you the way to be saved." This girl could easily be
mistaken for a church prophetess or an evangelist ,however , the fact that there
was exchange of money for her services gave her away as a demonized entity. Jesus
in Matthew10:8, expressly warned His
disciples against the monetization of the gospel as seen in many places today
under so many guise.
A true servant of God will never
minister for a reward or a prize. (Isaiah 45:13) There are preachers whose
stock in trade is fortune-telling and have made quite a fortune from it like this
girl, young ministers and church members are told that in order to receive the
anointing for prosperity in their ministry , they have to pay money to a super-
apostle or prophet like the case of apostle Simon in Acts 8:18-19 NIV “When Simon saw that the Spirit was given at the laying on of
the apostles' hands, he offered them money and said, "Give me also this
ability so that everyone on whom I lay my hands may receive the Holy
Spirit." he was rebuked by Peter for thinking the Holy Ghost miracle
working power is for sale.
Fortune -telling is counterproductive to
the spread of the gospel because it takes focus away from the teaching of sound
doctrine of the gospel of Jesus Christ needed for societal reform and places focus on the practitioner. The
ministry or prophet becomes more important than the indebt study of scriptures.
Countries were such is prevalent struggle
with the burden of corruption because of the lack of faith for provisions which
only comes from hearing God’s
word ( Rom10:17)
Paul says we are not ignorant of the devices of the evil one. Some persons in the name of "spiritual warfare" actually
spend more time talking to the devil each day than they do talking to God. This
gives the devil advantage over them as simple things such as casting out demons
are made to look like a herculean task that can only be executed by a
super-apostle. We are to look unto Jesus
in other to avoid these pitfalls, the anointing of the Holy Ghost does not go on vacations and there is no such thing as
being “outside” God’s presence (Psalm139:8) even when we are at our weakest (2cor12:10) ,God
remains strong and accessible to us. We certainly need to know that the devil
and demons exist, and we need to recognize when we are facing demonic operation.
But we need to keep our focus on the Lord and recognize that we are well able
to defeat the enemy for greater is He that
is in us than he that is in the world. Receive overcoming grace as you read this now in Jesus name..
Amen
