THE BAD,UGLY AND GOOD ARE EQUALLY APPROVED IN CHRIST
GOD DECLARES THE GOOD THE BAD AND THE UGLY RIGHTEOUS IN
CHRIST
Matt 22:12 'Friend,' he asked, 'how did you get in here
without wedding clothes?' The man was speechless. NIV
By Jewish tradition, the father of the bride looked forward to his daughter’s wedding as it was an opportunity to show off his wealth and this involved making exotic clothing for the guests, he never left anything to chance. This made both poor and rich appear indistinguishable to observers, therefore, a refusal to wear the clothes provided was seen as a deliberate attempt to humiliate the families of both bride and groom especially if such guests were brought from the highway as in this parable .

The etymology of the
human clothing is traceable to the garden of Eden when Adam and Eve traded the divine clothing of God’s
righteousness for that of rebellion born out of selfishness. Likewise, in the above
parable the garments symbolizes the righteousness
of Christ that God graciously gives to those who accept His invitation into the
kingdom through Jesus Christ.
It must be worn by both good, bad and ugly to
be acceptable in to the kingdom . We cannot achieve right standing before a
holy God through the observance of the
laws of Moses Gal 2:16 “…. A man is not justified by observing the law…..” but
in submission to the redemptive work of Jesus Christ. Trusting in one’s righteousness
automatically excludes the individual from the benefit of Christ's
righteousness and a relationship with God . The righteousness that God prescribes
comes freely through faith in Jesus Christ.
Jesus
Christ took the punishment that was due us and those yet unborn therefore we
become right with God by putting our faith in what Christ has done for us. This is what makes us righteous before God. Righteousness is a gift from God and infinitely greater than man's
insignificant righteousness. No one can
ever be justified in the sight of God on
the account of his or her own righteousness
or acts of holiness. One must have God's
righteousness which only comes through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as
Saviour. One must be found not having one’s own righteousness to stand approved
by God. Philippians 3:9, "And be
found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that
which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by
faith." This is "the righteousness of God." Eph 2:8 AMP” For it is by free grace (God's unmerited
favor) that you are saved ( delivered from judgment and made partakers of
Christ's salvation) through [your] faith. And this [salvation] is not of
yourselves [of your own doing, it came not through your own striving], but it
is the gift of God;” Receive grace now
as you read this for freedom from guilt and condemnation and prosper in your
service to God and humanity in Jesus name.
