THE BLESSING IN BECOMING LIKE LITTLE CHILDREN

By Rev.Michael Benson Ajayi
Matt 18: 3" And said,  Verily I say  unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye  shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven"
The word 'converted' is the Greek word 'strepho' which means to twist, i.e. turn quite around or reverse, turn self about. The word 'become' is the Greek word 'ginomai' which means to arise, be assembled, fall, be finished, follow, be found, be fulfilled , grow,be made, be performed,  seem, be showed. Therefore, Jesus is saying that except a person be willing to make a u-turn from his or her self-centered agenda or what he or she assumes to be their purpose in life and decides to follow Jesus with the simpleness of the heart of a child without the fear of falling in error and being fulfilled with what life presents each day as a child does without bogus ambitions with the readiness and willingness to assemble with other believers  like children do and being willing to display oneself in public for God's purpose as a child would ; they shall not enter the kingdom of God.
The world’s idea of worship is in formalism :it destroys the atmosphere for the development of the childlike faith in our churches which is so precious in God's eyes.God desires a family setting, not formalism.
He isn't moved by our so called 'seriousness' in church but delights in the childlike atmosphere which reveals a person's true character . Formalism is deceitful and creates a false sense of well-being thus giving no room for God's people to be healed from satanic addictions .
The lord is in no way encouraging disorderliness,  He wants everything done in proper order just like children in a school but not to the detriment of losing  our childlike faith. Our worship should be devoid of regimentation .  The scriptures says in Philippians 4:6 "Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God." most persons have falling into Satan’s religious trap while in the process of being careful to do 'God’s work '. Extreme cases include asking the Holy Spirit, which shirt, pants, bra to wear and which spoon ,cup, plate to use and groceries to purchase: this is often done to appear formal and spiritual to our neighbours. It exposes such persons to satanic manipulation and results in psychosis.
We have been called to liberty in the Spirit (Gal.5:13) and the Lord directs the footsteps of the righteous,  therefore haven prayed while seeking for His guidance concerning any issue,  we should have faith knowing it is God who dwells in us both to will and do His pleasure.  The scriptures says in Philippians 2:13 AMP "[Not in your own strength] for it is God Who is all the while effectually at work in you [energizing and creating in you the power and desire], both to will and to work for His good pleasure and satisfaction and delight." like children we are led by our heavenly Father and He doesn't need help from anyone, He is well able to bring us individually and collectively to the place of the fulfillment of our destinies.
We shouldn't be afraid of falling ,it is part of the growth process,  there are gainful lessons to be learnt from such experiences,  the scriptures says in Psalm 119:67 AMP "Before I was afflicted I went astray, but now Your word do I keep [hearing, receiving, loving, and obeying it]." every fall in business, finances, marriage,  relationship etc was caused by not following God like children,  failures are the product of self -sufficiency, every time we try to manage our lives by ourselves , we run into trouble Matthew 10:39 "He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it. " The world's concept of prosperity is that which encourages selfishness while in a bid to protect one's interest.  This is the reason for the strain in many christian marriages and homes.  In Christ,  we live to please the lord. We have no personal interests.  Our personal interests were crucified on the cross with Christ ,the scriptures says in Galatians 2:20 AMP "I have been crucified with Christ [in Him I have shared His crucifixion]; it is no longer I who live, but Christ (the Messiah) lives in me; and the life I now live in the body I live by faith in (by adherence to and reliance on and complete trust in) the Son of God, Who loved me and gave Himself up for me."
Therefore,  hardships should never be seen as a curse by Christian that requires going for 'deliverances ',we aren't demon possessed either (Col 1;13) after all ,there are non -Christians who go through these things too and come out better persons in character  ,  therefore  afflictions should be seen as opportunities to learn to trust God the more, the scriptures says in Psalm 119:71 AMP "It is good for me that I have been afflicted, that I might learn Your statutes." We should never give up on God whenever we suffer a painful mishap but be rest assured that no matter how many times we fall, we shall surely rise again, the scriptures says in (Rom.14:4)  "for God is able to make him stand ." Falling is a part of Christians growth, it is characteristic of children, to walk a child must overcome the fear of falling,  the scriptures says  in Proverbs 24: 16" For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: ..."
That's why you must have the faith of a child to be saved( Matt.18:4,Mk 10:15). A child doesn't attach so much importance to a fall, they simply rise up and continue on their journey oblivious of public opinion. It only becomes  a problem when you refuse to rise . We are children of God and you'll never seize to be a child in the eyes of God. And as long as we see ourselves as children we will continue to enjoy the provisions of His mercy, psalm 103:13 says "Like as a father pitieth  his children,  so  the Lord pitieth them that fear him." Children are not worried about what adults bother themselves with .That is what happens when we develop  a childlike faith. As children, we are expected to develop our senses so that we can better appreciate the provisions of His mercy through a regular diet of God's word (1peter2:2). As you declare Jesus as lord and read this now, receive grace for a life of all sufficiency in Jesus name.
