SEX : GATEWAY TO THE SOUL

1Cor.7:5 "Defraud  ye not one the other, except it be with consent for a time, that ye  may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again,  that Satan tempt you not for your incontinency."
      This scripture shows there is a correlation between faith and a persons' sexual habits. Jesus speaking to His disciples in Matthew 17:15-21 said fasting and prayer was a requirement in the development of faith for victorious living , this was said after an unsuccessful attempt to drive out an evil spirit  (Matthew 17:20) .
      The process of fasting includes abstinence from sex for a short period of time by mutual consent by married persons. Consensual sex  is the most powerful physical  experience one could ever experience : it unites the spirit, soul and body to form a new personality (1Cor.6:16) it is a major cause of multiple personality syndrome and a major gateway for evil spirits into the human soul.You share in whatever spirit or spirits in the person you have sex with. It is for this reason, believers are admonished to maintain sexual discipline and marry spouses with a sound biblical foundation and faith in God (1Cor.7:5,Acts15:20).
        Sex is a gift from God and should be treated with honour (Heb.13:4) It comes with obligations which should be adhered to dutifully (1Cor.7:3) each party in a marriage should strive to ensure that they satisfy their partner's sexual needs. In marriage, our bodies are jointly owned by our spouses thus no party has any write whatsoever to deprive the other sex. Depriving one's partner sex opens the doors to bitterness, diseases, infidelity and demonic manifestations in a marriage (1cor.7:4-5).
               Sex is likened to water and regardless of the shape of the container ,its chemical composition  remains the same. Therefore, one should be satisfied with one's spouse (Proverbs 5:18-20)Satisfaction is a state of the mind and it is by choice. One could be married to the most beautiful person in the world and yet not be sexually satisfied because of exposure to sexual perversion .The world's media would have us believe our satisfaction resides in someone else and not in us, this is the motivation behind sexual immorality, it is a disease of the mind that corrupts a person's vision about sex and marriage ;it is targeted at destroying the family bond. Sexual sins leads to bitterness, rebellion against the Holy Spirit  and destroys faith in God's word .
          God judges sexual immorality based on the intentions, thus, the person who physically looks at a married woman with an intention to have sex with her is as guilty before God as the man having sexual relationship with another man's wife (Matthew 5:27-28) this scripture takes care of the arguments on the morality of pornography.It for this reason that the grace of God is needed to live right before God. Through the spirit of grace we can put to death the appetite for sexual immorality (Col..3:5-7)
     Sexual immorality originates from the heart(Matt.15:19-20) therefore, it can be overcome in the heart thus giving it no room to manifest physically (prov.4:23-27) .It begins with the refusal to accept thoughts bordering around promiscuity. It should not be seen as a natural phenomenon to be sexually immoral.It is only permissible among animals because they are needed for multiplication to meet man's food needs. We are superior to animals. The scriptures says those who habitually engage in sexual sins shall not inherit God’s kingdom (1Cor.6:9-10)
    Sexual sins should not be seen as extraordinary requiring more power to deal with, that is a lie from the enemy, salvation from hell through the born again experience takes less than three minutes  likewise one can be free from sexual sin in less than three minutes. All things are possible to him who believes in God. You can overcome sexual immorality through the Holy Spirit (Gal.5.16-18,John 8:31-36). It is out of our reverence for God that we seek to be free from sexual immorality (2 Cor.7:1) God wants us to avoid sexual immorality by staying away from  things that stimulate or trigger sexual immorality (1 Thessalonians 4:3-6)
        The destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah is a warning to us (Jude 1:6-7,2Peter 2:4-10) These cities had legitimized sexual perversion  ,this led to the removal of God's protective cover over the city and they were destroyed (Gen.19:4-5,24-25)  . Homosexuality is an abomination before God (Lev.18:22) . The destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah took place over 300 years before the laws of Moses  therefore it should not be treated as an old testament issue with no present day validity. It is a perversion of God’s gift of sex and the family (Rom.1:26-27) .Jesus defined marriage as being between a man and a woman (Mark10:6) Homosexuality is a forgivable sin and victims can be cleansed from it (1Cor.6:11). A simple prayer could be "dear lord forgive me of the sin of sexual immorality and remove the appetite for sexual sin in me through the cleansing power of the blood of Jesus Christ and create in me a holy irritation for sexual sins in Jesus name."
Prayer : Heavenly Father forgive me for my sins against you. I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation. I receive him as lord and saviour and receive grace to break every satanic addiction in my life in Jesus name
