HELP FROM UNUSUAL SOURCES

By Rev. Michael Benson Ajayi
John4:6 "Now Jacob’s well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied with his journey, sat thus on the well: and it was about the sixth hour. There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink. "
God took on human flesh in Christ ,a phenomenon not too difficult for an all- powerful personality to accomplish. This was in fulfillment of the prophesy in Genesis 3:15 "And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel." The word 'seed ' refers to the human sperm . This is only found in men but God demonstrated His omnipotence by causing a woman to become  pregnant without the male's sperm. This is proof that  women are not as weak as commonly assumed . God’s thought was that : If humanity fell from God's grace through a woman likewise humanity will be saved by God’s grace through a woman (Mary).
The seed is the gift of the word of God received into her heart that was metamorphosed into a human being in the person of Jesus Christ( Luke 1:26-38). The word of God is a sperm seed (Mark 4:14.) with extraordinary capabilities when received in a person's heart.
God took on human flesh with its frailties and Jesus demonstrated His humanity in John 4.6 ; the scriptures says He was physically drained from His missionary activities and needed a drink. And He sought for help from the woman at the well in order to quench His thirst. This is to demonstrate to us that a person is never above help.
Nobody has the monopoly of strength and knowledge and we can never be too anointed to need help. We were created to compliment each other and not to compete with each other : inadequacy is part of our humanity.
Many persons have misinterpreted divine help only to mean assistance devoid of human influence and as a result suffered untold consequences  . In Isaiah 41:10, God promises to help us and one of the ways is by placing helpers in our lives. A wife is a husband's  helper and he should never underestimate her ability to proffer solutions to some of life's issues, this process of asking for help from one's spouse is what adds value to a marital relationship. Asking for help from a spouse does not in any way diminish a husband's value just as Jesus requesting for water from a woman did not diminish His divinity. When faced with financial crisis most men would rather confide with an outsider instead of their wives for fear of losing honour especially when the marriage is founded upon money and not God's word. This is one of the major pitfalls in marriages.
A man should never be ashamed to tell his wife about the poor state of his economy while seeking for help in prayer. It is a thing of pride for a man to be saved through his wife's counsel, it increases bonding between them. Never underestimate the power of your spouse especially when they are born again and full of the Holy Ghost.
We were designed to help one another that's why God never gives everything to one individual. The scriptures says in 1cor 12: 12 ,21 For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ... And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you. "
The doctrine that one's spouse could be less anointed is counterproductive . What that means is that one person is inferior to the other with respect to God's calling. This is one of the reasons behind the oppression of women in the church  . A nation that treats her women with disdain will never prosper. Moses' wife was an African from Egypt and when Moses was faced with a life threatening health condition she used her traditional African healing technique to save this great man of God ( Exodus 4:24-26). God uses the least likely to do the extraordinary.
We are all anointed with the same Holy Ghost and there is no such thing as any person having a higher anointing (John 15:16,1John2:20) We are admonished never to underestimate anybody  1 Corinthians 12:22-23 AMP says "But instead, there is [absolute] necessity for the parts of the body that are considered the more weak. And those [parts] of the body which we consider rather ignoble are [the very parts] which we invest with additional honor, and our unseemly parts and those unsuitable for exposure are treated with seemliness (modesty and decorum)," . Instead of labeling a spouse as being weak , we should rather pray that God helps them discover their potentials for our mutual prosperity while treating him or her with modesty and decorum. You cannot get the best out a person until you give them some sense of respect and value. The same should apply in the workplace.
Moses requested for help from others despite his calling, talent training and the anointing upon him (Exodus 4:10,14b, Exodus 18:18, 21,22 . He received righteous counsel from his father in law Jethro on administrative issues. God speaks to all of us therefore never underestimate anybody.
