AVOID EXTREMES IN HEALING AND PROTECTION

Lev 13:46 TLB
As long as the disease lasts, he is defiled and must live outside the camp.
Lev 14:3-4 TLB "The priest shall go out of the camp to examine him. If the priest sees that the leprosy is gone,
The healing ministry of Jesus Christ was a reflection of the gospel of salvation by grace through faith while acknowledging the indispensability of the laws of Moses. His healing methods varied according to the message He wanted to convey across to His audience .
On one occasion a man was healed on the traditional Jewish holiest day -the Sabbath , an indication of salvation by grace through faith and that God was more interested in saving mankind than preserving Jewish and human custom and traditions . In another case he healed a woman with a prolonged case of hemorrhage based on the latter’s faith without following conventional healing procedure. She said if I may but touch the helm of his clothes I will be healed and she was .
On another occasion he made a mixture of saliva and mud (mud therapy ) and placed it on the eyes of a man born blind and he instructed he go and wash his eyes in a sacred pool and he went seeing . Ten lepers were told to go and offer the sacrifice of thanksgiving for their healing as instructed by Moses in Leviticus chapter 13 and 14 and they were healed , this was an indication of Jesus’ acknowledgment of the place of the law in our salvation under the dispensation of grace. God has not abandoned the old testament but placed it side by side with the new for us to know that a man is not saved by the observance of the laws of Moses but by grace through faith and the law was necessary for divine justice to be executed for where there is no law , there is no sin.
There are two extremes to healing , that which says supernatural healing is gone with the disciples of Jesus Christ therefore , all healing can only be done through medical science; they forget that wisdom of science comes from God (John1.1-3) The second , extreme is that which says divine or supernatural healing is real and does not require any input or act from man. This concept believes all that is needed for healing to take place is a simple prayer with no physical activity by the sick . This extremes are clearly in violation of the law of faith which says “faith without work is dead “ in Jesus’ healing ministry the recipients or their representatives (as in the case of the dead or terminally ill) were ask to do some act of faith . Naaman had to go take a bath in a particular pool to be healed.
Moses made an image of a serpent and many were healed from a plague by looking at it , he instructed those with leprosy to be quarantined to avoid spreading the disease after which they got healed and joined the community again . When the source of drinking water was polluted he cast in a tree and neutralized the deadly effect of the water (Ex15:22-25) A parallel of this was Elijah using a salt solution to disinfect water for community use . (2kings2:19-20) These are acts which many modern preachers consider to be occultism even the act of feet washing and the Holy Communion. They are faith triggers needed to awake the faith of the sick and direct them to the saving grace of our lord and savior Jesus Christ. Truly, all things are possible to him who believes.
The realm of the spirit goes beyond rational human reasoning as in the interpretation of dreams (Daniel 5:1-29) , we must trust the lord to guide us and hold on to his word as our shield . God determines how he wants to heal or save a person.
Prayer : Heavenly father forgive me of my sins against you , I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation , I receive him as lord and savior and receive grace and inspiration to enjoy the gifts of healing and make an instrument for signs and wonders in Jesus name .
