CONSEQUENCE OF DENYING THE POWER
By Rev Michael Benson Ajayi
"For I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ. It is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes—the Jew first and also the Gentile." Romans 1:16 NLT
" For the Kingdom of God is not just a lot of talk; it is living by God’s power." 1 Corinthians 4:20 NLT
The difference between the born again experience and man-made religion is that religion makes a person arrogant (col2:19-23) while the born again experience humbles a persons with a servant's heart , man-made religion promotes pride which is behind all the crisis in the world . Pride precedes a fall because God opposes the proud .
Secondly, man-made Christian religion places emphasis on externalism and hypocrisy. They want to appear good but have hearts full of corruption and hatred . Haters do not have the life of Christ in them . The Bible says " If anyone claims, “I am living in the light,” but hates a fellow believer, that person is still living in darkness."1 John 2:9 NLT .,(1John3:15, 1 John4:20) The born again Christian hates sin but loves the sinner while religion hypocritically loves the sinner and promotes sin by justifying it , this is what the bible describes as denying of the power of the gospel .
Thirdly , while Jesus Christ instructed his disciples to preach the message of repentance from sins, on the other hand man - made christian religion preaches a tolerance and celebration of both sinner and sins claiming it is a demonstration of God's love or grace . The bible says ".. some ungodly people have wormed their way into your churches, saying that God’s marvelous grace allows us to live immoral lives. The condemnation of such people was recorded long ago, for they have denied our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ .Jude 1:4 NLT The message of grace is corrupted to mean a license to sin but the new testament bible says "..God will surely judge people who are immoral .." Hebrews 13:4 NLT and " Anyone who continues to live in him will not sin. But anyone who keeps on sinning does not know him or understand who he is." 1 John 3:6 NLT
