YOU CAN UNDERSTAND DIVINE VISIONS
Proverbs 29: 18 "Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he. "
God reveals His will to us through visions. The word vision is the Hebrew word 'chaza' which means to gaze upon; mentally to dream, be usual. A vision is a pictorial display of a divine plan of action concerning a situation. It comes as a flash in your subconscious. The scriptures says in Numbers 12:6 AMP 'And He said, Hear now My words: If there is a prophet among you, I the Lord make Myself known to him in a vision and speak to him in a dream.' God makes Himself known through visions. This gift shall be common in these last days as prophesied in Joel 2:28 AMP "And afterward I will pour out My Spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions." It is worthy of note that a divine vision points to the righteousness of God and it instills a sense of holiness , joy and peace.
In Acts 10:9b-11 the scriptures says Peter fell into a trance and he saw the heavens open and a sheet containing religiously unclean animals such as snakes, pigs etc being let down with an instruction for him to kill and eat them contrary to the laws of Moses. Peter's mindset was disabused through this vision with regards to his relationship with non Jews. A few days later Cornelius a prominent Soldier in the Roman Army and a non-Jew had a vision in which he was instructed to meet Peter. Their meeting eventually led to a massive revival and salvation of members of Cornelius ' household. Godly visions always leads to repentance and salvation of souls for God's kingdom.
Daniel received a vision ( Dan.8:1,2; 10:1-7) which foretold future events some of which we are witnesses to, they include the activities of the antichrist and the projection of the gay culture in the church . Abraham also received a vision that foretold the birth of the church of Christ over 2000 years before the manifestation of Christianity (Genesis 15:1-5) in verse 13 he was told about the slavery of the jews in Egypt for four hundred years and their eventual freedom .
Paul received a vision of Ananias (Acts 9:4-17) that led to his salvation and call to ministry. During his persecution, the lord also encouraged Paul through a vision ( Acts 18:9,10)
The lord also reveals Himself through the unrehearsed, spontaneous act of prophesy .This is the lord speaking through a person to you or through our hearts. He says in Jeremiah 1:9 AMP "Then the Lord put forth His hand and touched my mouth. And the Lord said to me, Behold, I have put My words in your mouth." and also in Acts 2:17 AMP "And it shall come to pass in the last days, God declares, that I will pour out of My Spirit upon all mankind, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy [telling forth the divine counsels] and your young men shall see visions (divinely granted appearances), and your old men shall dream [divinely suggested] dreams." The office of the prophet is an active part of the ministry of the Spirit the church of Christ ( 1 Corinthians 12:28 )
Visions and prophesies are very awe inspiring and this is why they are the tool of choice by false prophets. Any vision that doesn't speak of the righteousness of God and the need for repentance is not of God. False prophets do not emphasize the need for scriptures to be the yardstick for judging human behavior and they are self promoting and display materialism .True prophets live a conservative lifestyle (Philippians 4:5) . Deuteronomy 13:1-3 says we shouldn't give heed to any prophet that seeks to lead us astray and away from God's word. Deuteronomy 18:22 AMP says "When a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, if the word does not come to pass or prove true, that is a word which the Lord has not spoken. The prophet has spoken it presumptuously; you shall not be afraid of him." and we are admonished in Galatians 1:8 AMP "But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to and different from that which we preached to you, let him be accursed (anathema, devoted to destruction, doomed to eternal punishment)!" We should avoid the two extremes of visions and prophesies, one is to despise prophets and visions probably because of a previous unpleasant experience , the scriptures says people perish for the lack of a vision and secondly ,we shouldn't shy away from the responsibility that comes with studying the scriptures with its demand for a change of lifestyle while embracing the services of false prophets even if a dead person was brought back to life and a pauper turned millionaire overnight, the end of these extremes is destruction. As you read this receive grace for divine revelation for a positive life change in Jesus name. Prayer/counseling +2348098536911, +2348035536911, Email. Michaelbensonajayi@gmail.com
