PROBLEMS ARE NOT A SIGN OF GOD’S DISAPPROVAL
By Rev.Michael Benson Ajayi
John
11:9 "Jesus answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day? If any man
walk in the day, he stumbles not, because he sees the light of this
world."
John9:5 ".....I am the light of the world"
John9:5 ".....I am the light of the world"
Life is a journey which sometimes requires
moving in the dark therefore,
illumination is a must for night journeys to avoid stumbling .During the day we have a clearer vision of
the hazards along our path, despite this , we still need to depend on sound
judgment and our navigational skills for a safer journey. In John 11, Jesus compares His decision to
return to Judea to that of a man traveling during the day. Just like traveling
during the day does not mean the absence of hazards likewise walking in the light
of God's direction does not mean that
there won't be problems .It is risky and
dangerous to solve a problem with human
limited wisdom and ascribing it to God’s grace and whenever we are requested to
share our success story under such circumstance we simply say “Na God oo” .The bible describes this as walking in darkness:
with disastrous consequences .
Nobody has ever experienced sustainable
peace by telling “righteous lies” . The philosophy of deliberating hurting
others to get ahead in life and saying “God understands” eventually leads to calamity.
Most so-called ‘deliverance cases’ are the aftermaths of so many episodes of
“God understands” in our lives. God is not mocked , whatever seeds we sow we
shall reap. Our actions and in-actions have consequences {Gen.8:22,
Gal 6:6-8}. That is why we are admonished to invest on persons whom God has
appointed to show us the light of His Word in other to avoid life’s pitfalls
(Jer.3:15)
God will not twist any of His rules to
please an inpatient, proud, Christian. We are all going through something and
must follow divine due process to solve our problems. Shortcuts to success
often bring about short-lived joy and peace.
Jesus depended on the Father’s light
throughout His journey by obeying the leading of His Father . Likewise our
decisions should not be based on how convenient taking an action may be but by
discernment we follow God's will and do it regardless of the cost. It is
usually not the easiest step to take but surely the most rewarding. The fact
that a problem was easy to solve does not mean that it is approved of God.
Life’s journey is sometimes easy and many times difficult and as long as
progress is being made in joy, peace and righteousness. Life’s problems do not
come from God, there is no blessing in a sickness , marital failure or
bankruptcy and we should not be shocked when problems appear (1 Pet. 4:12) they are not
a sign of God’s rejection, He will never fail us nor forsake us. The more we make
living for Christ uppermost in our desires, the lesser these problems would
seem to have any impact on us. We are assured of a glorious future at the end
of these present troubles .
As you receive Jesus Christ as lord and savior
and read this now receive strength for perseverance and wisdom for uncommon
breakthroughs in Jesus name
