FAULT-FINDING HINDERS GRACE
By Rev. Michael Benson Ajayi
Matt 15:2KJV " Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread."
There is beauty in every human being but unfortunately folks cut up in the habit of fault- finding are usually overwhelmed with details of other peoples' shortcoming that they deprive themselves from seeing the beauty of God's grace in humanity (Matthew7:4-5). Most marriage, business relationships would be stronger if we refuse to allow ourselves get preoccupied with our partner’s faults. More energy should be channeled towards building better friendships and less on discovery of each other's errors. The religious folks of Jesus' time were more concerned about the eating habits of the disciples and less interested in their positive contributions to the society. We are to play a complimentary and not a competitive role in our relationships

Fault- finding is the by-product of
seeking to be righteous by self-effort instead of by faith through Jesus
Christ. There are no spiritual assignments that must be fulfilled in
other to please and be blessed by God. It is by making declarations on
the finished work of Christ we unveil the provisions of God's grace over
our lives. Self righteousness is the root of legalism in our churches . Legalism is man's attempt to earn God's favour.
Legalism is giving monetary offerings in church and reciting portions of the bible in the form of incantations in order to gain God's approval or favour; but it is by grace we give our tithes and offerings while acknowledging with thankfulness His blessing and love for us while seeking to understand His perfect will for our lives.

Through the knowledge of salvation by
grace we come to the realization that we are accepted into God's family
and there isn't any need to seek to impress Him through our self
effort (Eph1:6). Through faith we enjoy peace knowing we are guaranteed a
place in God by grace (1peter1:2) . Fault-finders are constantly
seeking for God's approval with no guarantees of their salvation because
they fail to understand that the old covenant with its
requirements have been rendered obsolete by Jesus Christ ( Rom.8:1-3,
Heb 11.6,Heb.10:10,Gal. 3:12).
Those living by Moses' moral
codes are driven by pride and self -relevance. Grace requires
acknowledging with thanksgiving God’s provisions for us through Jesus
Christ and it is motivated by love borne out of the recognition that
Jesus Christ has done all that needs to be done.
If our
motive is to impress God, that's legalism but if out of faith we are
thankful for what God has already done, that's grace in action which
leads to peace with God. As you receive Jesus Christ as your lord and saviour and read this now receive grace for uncommon progress in Jesus name .
