GOD WILL NOT DEMAND A MIRACLE SEED FROM YOU (PART3)
The Prophet’s And The Righteous man’s Reward
Matt 10:41-42 AMP
“ He who receives and welcomes and accepts a prophet because he is a prophet shall receive a prophet's reward, and he who receives and welcomes and accepts a righteous man because he is a righteous man shall receive a righteous man's reward. And whoever gives to one of these little ones [in rank or influence] even a cup of cold water because he is My disciple, surely I declare to you, he shall not lose his reward."
There is a reward for honouring ministers of the gospel . The word 'prophet' is the Greek word ‘ 'Prophetes’ it means : a foreteller ; by analogy, an inspired speaker; by extension, a poet: It is important to have a person with the capability to open our eyes to the wider implications of our actions. Our actions and choices come with consequences. Ministers of the gospel are a gift from God sent to help us avoid life’s pitfalls. It is for this reason that the scriptures says in Eph 4:11-12 AMP "And His gifts were [varied; He Himself appointed and gave men to us] some to be apostles (special messengers), some prophets (inspired preachers and expounders), some evangelists (preachers of the Gospel, traveling missionaries), some pastors (shepherds of His flock) and teachers. His intention was the perfecting and the full equipping of the saints (His consecrated people), [that they should do] the work of ministering toward building up Christ's body (the church), “ Ministers of the gospel are sent to help us fulfill our purpose in life .
Our frustrations and regrets today would have been avoided if we were convinced beyond reasonable doubt not to take the steps we took that has resulted in our present predicament. It is for this reason that God sends ministers of the gospel to us and it is our responsibility to recognize who is a true minister of the gospel.
True ministers of the gospel do not demand a reward or price in advance before they deliver God’s message or pray for you . ‘Deliverance’ is to be conducted by minsters without demanding anything from those held captive by Satan and his demons, Isa 45:13 KJV says “ I have raised him up in righteousness, and I will direct all his ways: he shall build my city, and he shall let go my captives, not for price nor reward, saith the Lord of hosts.”
The reference to prophet Elijah demanding food from the widow in 1 kings 17 :12-16 as justification to demand money from persons before praying for them is incorrect because in 2 kings 4:1-7 the prophet Elijah was used by God to break the yoke of poverty in the life of a widow through the miraculous multiplication of oil. He did not demand anything from the widow as a precondition. Elijah's case was peculiar as he was starving to death haven trekked for miles and needed food urgently to stay alive.
Another reference often used to collect landed properties from unsuspecting victims by false teachers is that of Elisha’s encounter with a barren wealthy woman who offered him free accommodation that eventually resulted in the yoke of barrenness being destroyed and she gave birth to a son (IKings 4:8-17). In all the cases , no ‘miracle seed’ was demanded by God’s servant . The recipients of theses miracles acted in faith and love for God’s servants and thus God was honoured and it resulted in miracles. They gave of their free will for the love of God : not by manipulation or coercion. They were saved by grace through faith in God’s word.
Prayer : Heavenly Father, forgive me of my sins against you, I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation, I receive him as lord and saviour and receive grace for the pulling down of every barrier standing against my prosperity in Jesus name.
