BILLIONAIRES CAN BE ANOINTED AND BE SPIRITUAL TOO

By Rev Michael Benson Ajayi    “… And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forasmuch as he   also is a son of Abraham … . ” Luke 19:2-9            In Mark 10 : 17-21 Jesus told the rich young ruler to sell all that he had and give to the poor, the reason being that he had more value for material   wealth than for God. Money had become his god. That's the condition of every person that easily takes offense whenever money is mentioned for the purpose of benevolence and missionary work.   Zacchaeus was very rich and was despised by the poor , probably because he was a tax collector, an occupation that attracts more foes than friends . It is also common to see the rich being relegated to the background in church activities, they are considered as ‘ not being spiritual enough ’ as though poverty was a virtue to be celebrated in the church of Christ. It is God ’ s will that we prosper materiall...

BE SILENT NO MORE: BE A GOD-PLEASER

By Rev Michael Benson Ajayi Mark 10:49 NIV “Jesus stopped and said, "Call him." So they called to the blind man, "Cheer up! On your feet! He's calling you."               The world’s belief system runs contrary to God’s principles of faith and thrives on rebellion and oppression. It celebrates those who make a mockery of the sacred and vilifies defenders of the Christian faith. The God's kind of Faith is volitional, intellectual and emotional. It is expressed through positive emotional outbursts like the blind man in Mark 10:43-48.T he world consider s this offensive.            The life of  faith in Christ is laterally inverted and diametrically opposed to the the popular worldview (Eph2:2)It is like running against the crowd in a marathon race. A lot of people have missed out on their purpose and the reward of a fulfilled life by trying to please the crowd: such persons ...

GOING THROUGH SUFFERINGS DOESN’T MEAN YOU ARE DEMON POSSESSED

By Rev.Michael Benson Ajayi    Matt 20:23“And he saith unto them, Ye shall drink indeed of my cup, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with: but to sit on my right hand, and on my left, is not mine to give, but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared of my Father.”     The Greek word for the phrase ‘ye shall drink’ is “pino”   it means to “imbibe” " That is : to receive into the mind and retain as moral principles or   to assimilate or take into solution like a sponge absorbs moisture _     Merriam-Webster dictionary .   As Christ’s disciples, we will indeed be plunged into the same sufferings that He experienced.          Sufferings are part of the Christian life, they are caused by(1) God (trials)(2)Self: as a consequence of sin and(3) Satan(temptation). Regardless of its origin sufferings end up working out for our greater good when we apply divine wisdom.  ...

GOD’S GRACE DOES NOT EXIST IN SIZES NEITHER CAN WE INFLUENCE IT

Rev Michael Benson Ajayi   Matt 20:12 KJV ” Saying, These last have wrought but one hour, and thou hast made them equal unto us, which have borne the burden and heat of the day”.          Many persons are of the notion that God has favorites among His children upon whom He has bequeathed special gifting or grace than others, thus making these persons the standard for the measurement of success. This theology opens the door for the systematic indoctrination and manipulation of God’s people by so-called “super apostles" ( 2Cor.11:5) like the apostle Peter: the first general overseer of the church of Christ ;he was for a moment friendly with the non- Jewish Christians who were traditionally considered as unclean and outcasts by the religious Jews. In the absence of his fellow Jews, Peter freely ate with these non -Jews but whenever he was amongst his tribesmen he treated these non- Jews as outcasts and inferior to the chagrin of apostle Paul who was qui...

THE GREATEST GIFT ONE CAN EVER RECEIVE

Rev. Michael Benson Ajayi   . Mark 10:25 NIV “It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God."            This scripture has been quoted out of context by many to mean there is no place for the rich in heaven. Some have gone to the extreme of embracing a life of depravity and abject poverty for the fear that material riches will hinder their salvation. Sin or righteousness are not determined by the statement of one's bank account.          This theology is contrary to God’s will for His people. The scriptures says the blessings of the lord makes a person rich spiritually and materially (Prov10:22) .   An example of this is Abraham who in obedience to God’s instructions left his kindred, journeying through desert regions with his entire family .He was declared blessed( empowered to be fruitful ) of God and this blessing made him ...

WE ARE NEVER GOOD ENOUGH TO MERIT SALVATION: WE NEED A SAVIOUR

By Rev. Michael Benson Ajayi Matt 19:20 NIV   "All these I have kept," the young man said. "What do I still lack?"                              There are two types of Christianity, (1) the born-again Christianity where a person’s salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ and (2) religious Christianity characterized external display of man-made religious standards :religious Christianity is devoid of the substance  and the virtues of a saved life namely righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost (Rom14:17). Followers lack a sense of self worth before God and always need a human mediator to access God's provision.          Religio us Christianity deprives a person of the one-of-a-kind relation s hip with God and is driven by fear and guilt . N o good work is good enough to exonerate a man fr...

MARRIAGE IS MORE THAN PUTTING A RING ON THE FINGER

By Rev Michael Benson Ajayi   Matt 19:7-10 NIV..”The disciples said to him, "If this is the situation between a husband and wife, it is better not to marry."          Under the Old Testament women were considered as spoils of war. They were seen as objects of pleasure, the scriptures says in Deut 21:11-14 “ And suppose you see among the captives a beautiful woman, and you are attracted to her and want to marry her…. ” But if you marry her and she does not please you, you must let her go free. You may not sell her or treat her as a slave, for you have humiliated her” Based on this, women are considered as inferior to their male counterparts in some religions.       Every male was conceived by a female just like an orange tree produces fruits; therefore it is illogical to say that the fruit is superior to the tree that bore it. In the beginning, God cloned a woman out of a man’s body part therefore none is inferior ...
