THE GREATEST GIFT ONE CAN EVER RECEIVE

.Mark 10:25 NIV “It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God."
This scripture has been quoted out of context by
many to mean there is no place for the rich in heaven. Some have gone to the extreme of
embracing a life of depravity and abject poverty for the fear that
material riches will hinder their salvation. Sin or righteousness are not determined by the statement of one's bank account.
This theology is contrary to God’s
will for His people. The scriptures says the blessings of the lord makes a
person rich spiritually and materially (Prov10:22) . An example of this is Abraham who in obedience
to God’s instructions left his kindred, journeying through desert regions with his
entire family .He was declared blessed( empowered to be fruitful ) of God and this blessing made him very rich materially (Gen13:2). When the Israelites
were about to live the land of their captivity, God commanded that they borrow
jewels of silver and gold from their Egyptian masters and they left Egypt
exceedingly rich ( Ex12:35).
The scripture says riches and wealth shall be found in the house of the righteous (Psalm112:3)Jesus Christ assured His disciples most of whom were successful businessmen that material prosperity was part of the provisions of our salvation experience (Mark10:29-30). Riches are meant for the spread of the gospel (Zech.1:17).

God loves rich folks as much as the
poor (Prov22:2, John3:16) .The scriptures speaks of Jesus’ love for the rich
young ruler in Mark (10:21) despite the fact that money had become his god in
contravention of God’s laws in Ex 20:3 which says "You shall have no other
gods before me”. NIV. This man’s riches was his security (Prov18:11) he was possessed
by what he owned. He lacked the one thing needed for salvation: faith. The scripture describes the true state of the
rich self-righteous person in Rev 3:17 NIV “You say, 'I am rich; I have
acquired wealth and do not need a thing.' But you do not realize that you are
wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked” peace, joy and freedom from the bondage of lack of self-
esteem comes from turning to Christ in humble submission. Jesus guarantees our salvation.
It is by grace that we are saved through faith. Jesus Christ paid for
the sins of humanity with His life thus he satisfied the demand of divine justice and gave us the free gift of salvation (Rom5:15-18)A gift is only useful when received. Confidence in one’s
achievement deprives a person of this opportunity, therefore, we are admonished
in Jer 9:23-24 NLT “..the
Lord says:"Don't let the wise boast in their wisdom, or the powerful boast
in their power, or the rich boast in their riches. But those who wish to boast
should boast in this alone: that they truly know me and understand that I am
the Lord”. Receive the gift of salvation now and be free from the trap of the enemy in Jesus name.
