HOW TO DEVELOP A WINNER'S MINDSET
Mark 8:35 KJV “ For whosoever will save his life
shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's,
the same shall save it.”
Deprivation
is a key component in the making of a disciple of Christ .Our relationship with
the physical or material world does affect our spiritual development (James4:4).
The human spirit has infinite capabilities but is limited in function by reason
of its attachment to the human body.
The disciple of Christ is likened to a
soldier (2Tim 2:4) who for the purpose of efficiency and effectiveness in the war-front isn’t expected to
be entangled with civilian affairs. He lives a regimented life by reason of the
goals he seeks to accomplish. A soldier has to be fit to carry his weapons;
likewise the Christian has to be fit emotionally , physically and psychologically to carry his cross (luke9:23) he must have a winner's mindset .
The 'cross' is symbolic of the message of salvation by grace through faith where righteousness is attained not by human efforts but by God’s mercy haven been redeemed through the blood of Jesus Christ thus, we stand justified by his grace and have become members of God’s household.

To be an effective disciple of Christ
involves denying oneself certain provisions of life. It is easier when done as
an act of love when one considers what Jesus Christ had to go through to save
us. When denial is seen as a religious demand, it becomes detrimental to the well-being of followers. Man –made religion works contrary to sound logic and therefore
very damaging. It requires harsh treatment of the body and strong devotions
premised on legalistic demands as though God requires human assistance in other
to bless us.Non-biblical religious denials promote pride, immorality and hatred
for God and man (Col.2:19-23).
While carrying our cross, we are
to follow the master, trusting in His righteous counsel; then will the enabling
power of His grace work through us to save lost souls. It is all about His will
being done through us and not ours and when we allow Him have His way, we soon discover
that His commandments aren’t grievous (1John5:3). This servant’s mindset places us upon a pedestal
of constant victory because whatsoever is born of God overcomes the world
(1john5:4): you are victorious in Jesus name.
