THE WORLD'S MOST ATTRACTIVE FRAGRANCE IS AFFORDABLE
Rev. Michael Benson Ajayi
2Cor.2:14" Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place."
The word' savour' as used in this text of Scripture is the Greek word 'osme' and it means fragrance , odour, and the word 'triumph ' is the word 'thriambeuo' which means : to make an acclamatory procession, to conquer or to give victory. What this implies is that the message of grace causes the born again christian to emit a fragrance that results in victorious living.
Words have odour that either makes us attractive or repulsive. Proverbs 24:26 says "Every man shall kiss his lips that giveth a right answer." the child of God who has patterned his or her speech after the word of grace has kissable lips. The world believes it is the usage of cosmetics that determines how kissable a lip is, but that's far from true, it is the love that a person has for another that leads to passionate kissing. Cosmetics makes the lips appear beautiful but does not guarantee a passionate kiss. If it did there wouldn't be such a scarcity of true love in as we see in the world today . Most persons of marriageable age would claim there are suitors but do not meet their criteria for a partner and this is as a result of the lack of good communication skills.
Under this circumstance ,it isn't a person's eloquence and finesse in the use of a formal language that determines their communication skills but their ability to speak with grace; the scriptures says in Col.4:6 "Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man." the tongue filled with grace does not weary its hearers leaving them hopeless and demoralised but makes them stronger and filled with hope, Isaiah 50:4says "The Lord GOD hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary: he wakeneth morning by morning, he wakeneth mine ear to hear as the learned. " This is why it is mandatory that we be well schooled in the usage of God's word of grace. The father a person is from the knowledge of the word of grace the higher is their tendency to weary their hearers. That's not the kind of odour God wants us to emit.
We should pray for good utterances, the scriptures says in Psalm 19:14 "Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord.." and psalm 141:3 "Set a watch, O Lord, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips." There is no such thing as 'marine spirits' chasing away our spouses but a case of communication deficiencies. The scriptures says we have been delivered from the forces of darkness (Col.1:12-13,Luke10:19) and declared qualified for marriage and other provisions due the saints of God. The word of God is true and man a liar and He wants us to commit ourselves to speaking what is right and true (Prov.8:6-8)
We should not speak harshly but correct one another in love (Eph.4:15,Prov.25:11-12,15:4) We are admonished to avoid using unwholesome or corrupt words against each other . The scriptures says in Ephesians 4:29 "Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers".The word corrupt is the Greek word 'sapros' which means :rotten, morally bad , worthless . Words have power whether used casually or seriously , You can't call a spouse or child a fool and yet say it's a joke, such words leads to cracks in the walls of Christian homes. We should by all means avoid using harsh words against each other(Prov.15:1). Most christian woman are victims of harsh words and that's why they don't enjoy having sexual intercourse with their husbands. The only way they can enjoy sex is by imagining their husbands to be someone else. That in itself opens the door to sexual sins which are totally avoidable if men would learn to avoid speaking harshly to their wives. Speaking graciously helps us to attain our full sexual potentials and cures many ailments.
Most misunderstandings are as a result of not being patient to allow the speaker finish his or her speech (James1:19) if we spoke less ,we would discover that we are actually saying the same thing but from different viewpoints. A man that speaks before listening would loose respect before his wife and children ( Prov.18:13) same with a mother before her household. This leads to people giving up on their spouses and children (Prov.29:20)
God forbids us from lying to each other((Exodus 20:16,Ephesians 4:25), credibility once lost may take as much as ten years to rebuild. Lying exposes a family to dangers and gives Satan the advantage over us. The fastest way to quit lying is to reduce talking and avoid being the one to end a discussion. God hates lies Prov.12:22 says " Lying lips are abomination to the Lord: but they that deal truly are his delight. " Lying shuts the door to prosperity and opens the doors to disaster (Psalm34:11-14) and liars will not go unpunished (Prov.19:9) it is for this reason that God has given His holy Spirit to aid us in our weaknesses in communication skills (Acts 2:4)
As you read this now receive grace for control of your tongue and the healing of every broken heart in your family in Jesus name.
