BREAKING THE CYCLE OF BACKWARDNESS

 Num 14:1-4 TLB  “Then all the people began weeping aloud, and they carried on all night.  Their voices rose in a great chorus of complaint against Moses and Aaron. "We wish we had died in Egypt," they wailed, "or even here in the wilderness,  rather than be taken into this country ahead of us. Jehovah will kill us there, and our wives and little ones will become slaves. Let's get out of here and return to Egypt!"  The idea swept the camp. "Let's elect a leader to take us back to Egypt!" they shouted.”
      The fear of the unknown is a major challenge that must be overcome if meaningful progress is to be made in life. It usually manifests itself whenever we are about to take major steps in life for the first time .Sometimes major steps such as marriage , relocating to a new state or country , teaching children about sex education , starting a ministry or business, job change , economic reforms in a country, could be terrifying considering that we all have a history of failures. This is the bane of underdevelopment in the African continent; there is preference for leaders that encourage foreign reliance than self dependence through industrialization and exports. This is a product of the fear of taking the first steps: a byproduct of superstitious beliefs and lack of sound teaching of God’s word.  

       Our churches are replete with individuals going through endless ‘deliverances ‘ to break a non-existent curse of backwardness with some made to part with their belongings by false teachers who are always out to take advantage of the weak and vulnerable .
         The born again Christian is blessed and cannot be cursed (Eph1:3,Gal3:13,Col1:12-13) .Jesus Christ is our immunity against curses ; our spiritual position in Christ is beyond the reach of spells, curses and so on. Luke10:19-20 Amp.Bible  says “ Behold! I have given you authority and power to trample upon serpents and scorpions, and [physical and mental strength and ability] over all the power that the enemy [possesses]; and nothing shall in any way harm you. ….. spirits are subject to you”  From this scripture it is not the born again Christian that should be seeking for deliverance but demons fleeing at our presence. But when we listen to wrong teachings that arrogates so much power to Satan and demons  , the vicious cycle of backwardness keeps repeating itself until we deal with the fear of taking the first steps and that of the unknown. Most times couples plagued with the fear of taking the first steps soon run into trouble in their marriages and delay to seek the service of a mature Christian counselor until it is too late. The only cure to the fear of taking the first steps is the knowledge of the truth in God’s word.
   When the Israelites were instructed by Joshua to take the first steps towards possessing their possession , they preferred to trust in the tales of failure handed them by their parents than trusting in God’s word  ,most Christians tend to have a stronger allegiance towards their families than to God’s word and this can be catastrophic (Matt10:37). It is the reason behind retrogression in families. Embracing the same insecurities as our parents keeps us in the same level as they were , it is for that reason that parents who seek for a better future must develop a culture of the reading of God’s word to their children that the seed for victorious faith may grow in their hearts(Rom.10:17).  
       To conquer the fear of taking the first steps, we should first write the desired change in a book (Habakuk2:2) and the steps that need to be taking and dedicate it to the lord while reading it daily until faith arises within us, trusting Him like Joshua who refused to back down but trusted God’s word which says I will certainly be with you (Exodus 3:12) and overcome the fear of negative outcome by declaring Heb 13:5-6 TLB ” ..For God has said, "I will never, never fail you nor forsake you." That is why we can say without any doubt or fear, "The Lord is my Helper, and I am not afraid of anything that mere man can do to me."  Take that step to repair your marriage, start a business, get more education and so on now, a victorious testimony awaits you. As you receive Jesus Christ as your lord and savior and read this now, receive grace for positive progress  in Jesus name.

COMMON CAUSES OF DISUNITY.

Proverbs 29:22 NLTBible        Disunity is defined as : disagreement and conflict within a group. It is the greatest hindrance to the promotion of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Disunity creates an avenue for Satan to promote sin.       The causes of disunity are not farfetched ,they include : Unhealthy Crave for power or self- promotion. Whenever there is an unhealthy pursuit of influence in a family or group it results in resistance. Self-promotion gives birth to unfair practices and injustices. CONSEQUENCES OF LACK OF FAITH

Believe!”John 20:27 NLTBible     Faith is the guarantee of the manifestation an unseen reality . It is the reason behind the hope we have in God and the fulfilment of his promises. It is the substance ( title deed) of things hoped for ,the evidence of things not seen (Hebrew 11:1) .The Bible warns against not having faith in God. Lack of faith is equal to calling God a liar and untrustworthy.
