THE HATRED AND SUFFERINGS SHALL RESULT IN YOUR PROMOTION
Judg 11:1-3 “Now
Jephthah of Gilead was a great warrior. He was the son of Gilead, but his
mother was a prostitute. Gilead's wife also had several sons, and when these
half brothers grew up, they chased Jephthah off the land. "You will not
get any of our father's inheritance," they said, "for you are the son
of a prostitute." So Jephthah fled from his brothers and lived in the land
of Tob. Soon he had a band of worthless rebels following him.”
Stories like
Jephthah are all too common with the crave for sexual liberties and the
propagation of humanistic ideologies. He was termed an illegitimate child haven
been born out of wedlock by a prostitute but according to God’s plan no human
is illegitimate .There may be illegitimate relationships but children from such
relationships have equal right of existence before God.
Most gang
members are product of illegitimate relationships and victims of parental neglect.
The will of God is for every child that
comes into the world to be planned for and raised in a loving family
environment with a father to inculcate the principles of divine authority and a
mother to teach resource management and human relationship. This is what makes
up a balanced individual. You cannot
have one without the other, it results in rebellion and instability. This was
what led to Jephthah finding a home with rebels. The greatest need for persons
from dysfunctional family background is identity. A person’s identity
determines the trajectory of his or her life that’s why so much importance is
placed in naming ceremonies in line with God’s purpose for a child. The name Jephthah means : he will open’ it is
from a word Jiphtah which means ‘God will open’. Despite his circumstance he enjoyed open
doors.
Like jephtah
you may be suffering in life for a reason not necessarily your fault ;be rest assured
that as a child of God ,He is committed to open doors and give you access to
His provisions. You must realize you were not born by accident. Failure to know
this will result in a lack of fulfillment and a heart full of bitterness. You
must overcome the blame game and put your trust in the lord who is the father
of all , relatives may be ashamed of us but not Jesus Heb 2:11-12 TLB say“We who have been made holy by Jesus, now
have the same Father he has. That is why Jesus is not ashamed to call us his
brothers”.
Jephthah did
not deserve such name calling by his half brothers; driven out of town rendering
him homeless but their hatred for him made him strong and developed leadership qualities
that were second to none. There is never
a good enough excuse to destroy your life because of rejection by relatives;
your future is greater than your present as long as you put your trust in the
lord.
Yes suffering hurts,
however, it is the bedrock for the development of a resilient soul and strong character.
Turn your anger into a drive for discovering the manifold riches of God’s grace
and unfailing promises, that was what Jephthah
did and was eventually made ruler over his brethren . They were faced with a problem which could
only be solved by Jephthah . As you receive Jesus Christ as lord and savior the
anointing of God’s favour shall bring you to a platform where you shall be
celebrated by those who once rejected you in Jesus name.
