HAPPINESS IN A STORMY WORLD
INEXPRESIBLE JOY IN A STORMY WORLD

1 Peter 1:8 AMP "Without having seen Him, you love Him; though you do not [even] now see Him, you believe in Him and exult and thrill with inexpressible and glorious (triumphant, heavenly) joy."
The world is going through one of the most trying times because of the activities of the ungodly. There is virtually no part of the world that isnt faced with social upheavals. This was prophesied as part of the signs of the end times in Matthew 24. Jesus said Matthew 24:6-7 AMP "And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars; see that you are not frightened or troubled, for this must take place, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in place after place;"
This is in fulfillment of the prophesy in Haggai 2:6-8 which says there shall be an escalation of both human crisis and cataclysmic activities in the last days heralding the return of the lord .These events would lead to economic crisis and social instability and the only place where peace shall be found shall be in the house of the lord.
Peace and joy are both fruits of the Holy Spirit and they are a gift from God and they that operates regardless of the prevailing circumstances ( Gal.5:22 ) therefore the child of God is guaranteed joy in the midst of the crisis in the world. Joy is manifested as we get closer to God's word , the scriptures says in Psalm 119:162 AMP "I rejoice at Your word as one who finds great spoil." and psalm 119:165 says "Great peace have they who love Your law; nothing shall offend them or make them stumble. " Families with a tradition of sharing the word of God with each other and their neighbours are happier and peaceful.
No amount of money can take the place of the word of God in ensuring peace and tranquility in a home , the scriptures says in Ecclesiastes 5:10 NLT "Those who love money will never have enough. How meaningless to think that wealth brings true happiness!"
When we yeild in obedience to God's word he rewards us with joy Psalms 45:7 NLT "You love justice and hate evil. Therefore God, your God, has anointed you, pouring out the oil of joy on you more than on anyone else." Overflowing joy follows obedience.
We are blessed to be a blessing to others, this is achieved when we use our gifts, talents to help others especially the less privileged members of the family and community. The scriptures says in Proverbs 14:21 NLT "It is a sin to belittle one’s neighbor; blessed are those who help the poor." this blessing is manifested in unspeakable joy and it is a confirmation of our faith in the lord as the source of our provisions.
Whenever we acknowledge what the lord has done for us openly as a result of our faith in Him, it leads to overflowing joy, the scriptures says in Psalms 100:3 NLT "Acknowledge that the lord is God! He made us, and we are his. We are his people, the sheep of his pasture." We should never belittle any testimony, our faith for greater achievements comes as a result of the ability to show appreciation to God for past breakthroughs.
There is a supernatural happiness that the lord gives when we are in difficulties especially when persecuted for the faith. The scriptures says in 1 Peter 3:14 AMP "But even in case you should suffer for the sake of righteousness, [you are] blessed (happy, to be envied). Do not dread or be afraid of their threats, nor be disturbed [by their opposition]." Faith and joy go hand -in -hand and serves as our strength in the stormy times and they are not subject to any circumstances like the scriptures says in Habakkuk 3:17-18 AMP "Though the fig tree does not blossom and there is no fruit on the vines, [though] the product of the olive fails and the fields yield no food, though the flock is cut off from the fold and there are no cattle in the stalls, Yet I will rejoice in the Lord; I will exult in the [victorious] God of my salvation! . Regardless of what comes our way, God has promised happiness to the faithful. As you read this now,receive grace for overflowing happiness in Jesus name.
