THE PERSON OF THE HOLY SPIRIT PT 1

            Acts 19:2. “ He said unto them, have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed?  And they said unto him we have not so much as heard whether there be Holy Ghost.”
   There are two kinds of Holy Spirits, the regenerated (Born again) human spirit and the Spirit of God. From the bible definition, the word holy (gk ‘hagiasmos”) means ‘separated for God’ and the word’ spirit’ (gk “pneuma”) as seen in Jn 3:8 and Rev. 11:11 means “the wind”, “the breath” and also “the immaterial, invisible part of man”. Very often when people say the spirit of God is speaking , they are actually the ones speaking and not the Holy Ghost. The apostle Paul was careful to make the distinction in his writing to the church at Corinth. He said in  1Co 7:12” But to the rest speak I, not the Lord: If any brother hath a wife that believeth not, and she be pleased to dwell with him, let him not put her away “ The voice of the lord is logical , emotional , volitional and intellectual , it always makes common sense, therefore if a word doesn’t make common sense then it is not of the lord.God is not bound to fulfill a prophesy that did not emanate from the Holy Spirit. God's word is powerful and life changing. 
       Human beings are spirits, with souls (emotions, senses, intellect, will) and dwell in  bodies; the spirit of the born again christian is ‘holy’.  Therefore, the invisible, immaterial part of man that is separated for God is a holy Spirit.
        The Holy Spirit (ghost) is the Spirit of the Father that dwells with us on earth Rom. 8:14
He is  also known as the Sprit of  The Son (Gal. 4:6), Christ 1 Pet. 1:11,Life Rom 8:2, , Truth Jn 15:26, Lord 2 Cor3:17, Grace Heb.10:29, Wisdom, Counsel, might, knowledge and fear of the Lord( Isa. 11:2), Comforter (Jn 14:16, 16:7), Adoption Rom.( 8:15,) ,.
            The Holy Spirit is a “person” and not some “‘influence or ‘force’ from God. He is described in the scriptures with the pronoun “He” not “it”, the scriptures says in  Jn 16:13-14” Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he shall guide you into all the truth: for he shall not speak from himself; but what things soever he shall hear, [these] shall he speak: and he shall declare unto you the things that are to come.,” and He is like Jesus Christ Jn 14:16,  resisting the Holy Ghost is a sin and amounts to blasphemy against God Matt. 12:13, Mk 3:29.He is the same as God it was He who raised Jesus Christ from the grave Rm. 8:11, Acts 2:24, 32.We preaching with His power 1Cor. 2:4-5and we are His temple 1Cor 6:19,20. 3:16,17,
       He has the same character as God therefore the scriptures couldn’t be speaking about a mortal being as there are so many individuals claiming to be the holy spirit . 
            He knows all things (Jn 16:13 ) and was involved in the Creation of the universe ( Gen. 1:2),, He is the revealer of truth (1Cor 2:10-11), He is eternal Heb 9:14 and all-powerful Lk. 1:34, Rom. 15:19,

On investigation it was discovered the church suffered from a vicious cycle of evil family  patterns. They were not enjoying the fruits of the salvation experience . An example of evil family patterns is that of King David who defiled Uriah's wife ,murdered him and his son Absalom murdered his brother Amnon (2Sam13) dethroned him and defiled his concubines openly (2Samuel16). His son Amnon defiled his sister Tamar (2Sam.13) and so on yet David was the anointed of the Lord....

COMMON CAUSES OF DISUNITY.

Proverbs 29:22 NLTBible        Disunity is defined as : disagreement and conflict within a group. It is the greatest hindrance to the promotion of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Disunity creates an avenue for Satan to promote sin.       The causes of disunity are not farfetched ,they include : Unhealthy Crave for power or self- promotion. Whenever there is an unhealthy pursuit of influence in a family or group it results in resistance. Self-promotion gives birth to unfair practices and injustices. CONSEQUENCES OF LACK OF FAITH

Believe!”John 20:27 NLTBible     Faith is the guarantee of the manifestation an unseen reality . It is the reason behind the hope we have in God and the fulfilment of his promises. It is the substance ( title deed) of things hoped for ,the evidence of things not seen (Hebrew 11:1) .The Bible warns against not having faith in God. Lack of faith is equal to calling God a liar and untrustworthy.
