KNOWLEDGE COULD BE A HINDRANCE TO FAITH FOR BREAKTHROUGHS AND HAPPINESS

2 Peter 1:5-6 NLT  “ In view of all this, make every effort to respond to God's promises. Supplement your faith with a generous provision of moral excellence, and moral excellence with knowledge,”
       Merriam Webster English Dictionary defines knowledge as a) : the fact or condition of knowing something with familiarity gained through experience or association  b) : acquaintance with or understanding of a science, art, or technique c) : the fact or condition of being aware of something : the range of one's information or understanding  d) : the circumstance or condition of apprehending truth or fact through reasoning  e):   the fact or condition of having information or of being learned  f): the sum of what is known  g): the body of truth, information, and principles acquired by humankind .
      The scriptures enjoin that we acquire wholesome knowledge in other to better appreciate the universe in all its complexities and harness our full potentials. The truth of the scriptures can only be appreciated when we open our hearts to knowledge.
       Through knowledge we can see the correlation between faith and facts thus making it easier to trust in the authenticity of God’s word. Knowledge involves gathering data and analyzing it to arrive at a reasonable conclusion which we accept as truth. And by knowledge we know that scientific data is insufficient to disprove God’s existence .  For instance , there is no data for the measurement of hope, love , consciousness, fear , doubt . These are real elements of human life ;therefore , there must be data outside scientific knowledge by which we can readily observe the various elements of human life.
      Knowledge under God’s illumination leads to happiness (Prov.3;13) . Knowledge that tends to increase misery, loneliness and insecurity cannot be said to be good knowledge unfortunately, many are engrossed in knowledge that seeks to discountenance the wisdom of God.  Knowledge should make one happier and healthier but that is not the case with humanistic knowledge. The more persons tend to acquire humanistic  knowledge the lesser their desire to leave together.Human smartness tends to hatred.
       Knowledge that rejects the wisdom of God is a major source of temptation and misery (Gen3:5-6). It is the reason behind the increasing sense of loneliness and suicides. Eve sought for something other than God , a knowledge that would place her above her maker and that was the genesis of our woes. It is like claiming there was a ‘big bang’ without a cause ; logic says if there was a ‘big bang’, something must have caused it  and it must have been intentional given that through it intelligent life form came forth .
     Unwholesome knowledge is any form of knowledge that denies faith and does not satisfy logic . This kind of knowledge results in presumptions(Gen3:22-23). Under this condition, a person becomes unteachable, over-opinionated  and prone to making terrible errors in marriage, business, relationships, finances with devastating consequences. It is behind the increased cases of emotional depression in our communities Eccl 1:18 NIV  ” For with much wisdom comes much sorrow; the more knowledge, the more grief.” Under such conditions it is difficult to cohabit with a marriage partner and find true love.  
      The pursuit of unwholesome knowledge can be very exhausting and traumatic Eccl 12:12 TLB says “..there is no end of opinions ready to be expressed. Studying them can go on forever and become very exhausting! “  those who pursue unwholesome knowledge tend to struggle with emotional intelligence ,they are unromantic. Romance is divine and requires humility ,bringing oneself to the level of one’s lover ; unwholesome knowledge makes a person too  proud to love .It puffs up ,but the knowledge of God’s love edifies (1Cor.8:1)
As you receive Jesus Christ as lord and savior and read this now receive grace to experience the overwhelming power of God’s love in Jesus name .

COMMON CAUSES OF DISUNITY.

Proverbs 29:22 NLTBible        Disunity is defined as : disagreement and conflict within a group. It is the greatest hindrance to the promotion of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Disunity creates an avenue for Satan to promote sin.       The causes of disunity are not farfetched ,they include : Unhealthy Crave for power or self- promotion. Whenever there is an unhealthy pursuit of influence in a family or group it results in resistance. Self-promotion gives birth to unfair practices and injustices. CONSEQUENCES OF LACK OF FAITH

Believe!”John 20:27 NLTBible     Faith is the guarantee of the manifestation an unseen reality . It is the reason behind the hope we have in God and the fulfilment of his promises. It is the substance ( title deed) of things hoped for ,the evidence of things not seen (Hebrew 11:1) .The Bible warns against not having faith in God. Lack of faith is equal to calling God a liar and untrustworthy.
