BE SILENT NO MORE: BE A GOD-PLEASER AND NOT A MAN-PLEASER

BE SILENT NO MORE: BE A GOD-PLEASER AND NOT A MAN-PLEASER
Mark 10:49 NIV “Jesus stopped and said, "Call him." So they
called to the blind man, "Cheer up! On your feet! He's calling you."
The world’s belief system runs contrary to
God’s principles of faith. It does not allow for the free expression of one’s
faith in God. It celebrates those who make a mockery of the sacred and vilifies
defenders of the Christian faith. Faith is volitional, intellectual and
emotional. It is expressed in an emotional display which many often find
offensive as in the case of the blind man in Mark 10:43-48.
- Living for Christ in a system that is
laterally inverted and diametrically opposed to what the gospel teaches on
faith is like running against the crowd in a marathon race. A lot of people
have missed out on their purpose and the reward of a fulfilled life by trying
to please the crowd, such persons would rather serve God secretly while
depriving themselves of the benefits of living a victorious Christ-like life. They’d
rather remain blind than offend the crowd with their expression of faith.
However, without faith, it is impossible to please God, and faith without works
is dead. The blind man, demonstrated his
faith through shouting and wouldn’t let the crowd shut him and he was rewarded
with healing. To live a victorious life in Christ requires one refusing to
conform with social norm or popular opinion, choosing to be a God- pleaser
rather than being a celebrity in the arena of the unbelievers.
The euphemism of the gospel is all that
Satan needs to infiltrate the church with satanic doctrines that celebrate
immorality and deemphasizes the import of holiness and faithfulness as virtues
in the life of the believer. Without holiness it is impossible to see God (
Heb.12:14) . The believer in Christ shares in His holiness (Heb12:10) . The deemphasizing of the doctrine of holiness by a believer is termed
‘giving one’s pearls to swine’ Matt 6:34 (Message bible )"Don't be flip
with the sacred. Banter and silliness give no honor to God. Don't reduce holy
mysteries to slogans. In trying to be relevant, you're only being cute and
inviting sacrilege”. In a bid to be trendy and appealing to popular world view,
many have replaced the teachings of the holy scriptures with rhetorics devoid
of healing miraculous power, truth and integrity(2Tim3:5). Diluted truth is no truth.
God has to be sought whole heartedly, and then can there be a divine
intervention in our lives (Heb 11:6, Jer 29:13).
In a bid to be popular, a lot of people have toned down their pursuit for
true faith. Silent Christianity is devoid of life changing power; Jesus
demonstrated this when He resurrected Lazarus with a shout (Jn11:43), making a
public display of the glory of the Father. Sometimes you need to be vocal in
your demand for the miraculous, some do not have because they ask not
(James4:2). Job was a man of extraordinary faith who understood the importance
of being vocal about one’s faith against all odds. Job 13:19
KJV ”Who is he that will plead with me? for now, if I hold my tongue, I shall give up the ghost.” Be silent no more. It is time to let
your light shine with the overwhelming light of God’s word and may you never
cease to testify of God’s goodness in every sphere of life in Jesus name.
