HOW TO OVERCOME THE FEAR OF LACK
By Rev. Michael Benson Ajayi
YOUR DAYS OF LACK ARE OVER
Matt 15:34 NKJV ”Jesus said to them, "How many
loaves do you have?" And they said, "Seven, and a few little
fish."
God’s plan is for us to always have more than enough
resources not only for our needs to be met but also for the needs of others to
be met too. His blessing is upon us to multiply our resources .The scriptures
say the blessing of God makes a man rich and it adds no sorrow (Prov 10:22). As part of our salvation experience we are
given grace for the multiplication of our resources: this is a supernatural
endowment that increases whatever we place in God’s hands for our use and for the expansion of
missionary work on earth.
In Matt 15:32-37 the disciples where
faced with the challenge of feeding four thousand persons and were overwhelmed
when they looked at what they had : seven loaves of bread and a few little fish
however, when these were placed in the lords hands in thanksgiving, the power for multiplication came upon those loaves
and fishes and over four thousand persons where fed. The scriptures say in Matt
15:37 NKJV “So they all
ate and were filled, and they took up seven large baskets full of the fragments
that were left.” In John
6:1-12 we see the same miracle of multiplication of resources where over five
thousand men where fed from five loaves and two small fish and there were
leftovers the scriptures says in John 6:13-14 NKJV “Therefore they gathered them up, and
filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves which were
left over by those who had eaten”. These two scripture reveal a very important
principle in the working of the blessing for multiplication. God multiplies
whatever is given to Him in faith and love. The fragments were not to be thrown
away as even the smallest thing has the capacity to multiply when blessed. God
does not condone wastage. We shouldn’t underestimate the blessing of multiplication; it
adds value to whatever is committed to it.
In the Old Testament a widow’s food reserve was multiplied
through Elijah when she offered to share some with the itinerant missionary (1
kings 17:8-15). A lot of people have missed out on their miracles by not acting
in faith when God told them to. The reward for taking this act of faith
manifests in marriages, healing, babies, security, businesses and jobs and
ministry opportunities. The work of ministry requires a lot of resources to
reach out to over 5 billion persons around the world; the lord is keen to
multiply our resources for this very important purpose. If we can overcome the
initial fear that Satan puts in our hearts as long as we are sure that its God’s instruction that we are following,
we are sure to receive a reward for our act of benevolence done in love and not
by coercion. God who miraculously fed 3 million Jews in the desert (Exodus 16),
caused water to gush out of a rock to quench their thirst (Exodus17) ,
supernaturally destroyed inflation in Samaria
within 24hrs by a prophet’s pronouncement (2kings 7) can multiply your resources
. It is better to depend on the blessing of multiplication than on the world’s failing economic system. In 1kings
17:13 Elijah said to the widow ‘do not fear’. Fear is Satan’s weapon to keep God’s people in lack .God has not given us the spirit of
fear but of love, power and a sound mind to trust in His word which says in 2
Cor 9:8 AMP “And God is
able to make all grace (every favor and earthly blessing) come to you in
abundance, so that you may always and under all circumstances and whatever the
need be self-sufficient [possessing enough to require no aid or support and
furnished in abundance for every good work and charitable donation].You days of
lack comes to an end in Jesus name.
