BREAKING THE CYCLE OF UNNECESSARY DELAYS

By Rev.Michael Benson Ajayi.
Eccl 3:1 TLB There is a right time for everything:
Eccl 3:11 NIV  “He has made everything beautiful in its time….”
There is an appropriate time for a child to start walking and another for eating solid meals. It is part of human design that at certain times a unique event is expected to manifest in our lives.       Desire is a confirmation of the existence of a thing , you cannot desire what does not exist , and with respect to the fulfillment of our heart’s desires we have a role to play just as a baby will need to make attempts at walking  before he or she can actually walk.  However, there are circumstances that could delay the process of the manifestation of a desired outcome in our lives. They are personal, environmental, physiological or medical and divine. Therefore, delays are either caused by us, God or other persons.
Whenever a delay is caused by God, we should learn the necessary lessons needed to advance and if caused by men, we should resist it and make attempts to overcome it.  However, the most difficult type of delay is that caused by us. Faith in God always comes with responsibilities and responsibilities demands getting out of our comfort zone and anything that seeks to bring discomfort is seen as an enemy. In a bid to maintain our comfort zone some of us actually pray against God’s will from being done in our lives. The Israelites suffered unnecessary delays in their journey to the Promised Land as a result of this in Josh 18:3-7 TLB we are told “Then Joshua asked them, "How long are you going to wait before clearing out the people living in the land that the Lord your God has given to you? Select three men from each tribe, and I will send them to scout the unconquered territory and bring back a report of its size and natural divisions so that I can divide it for you. The scouts will map it into seven sections, and then I will throw the sacred dice to decide which section will be assigned to each tribe.”   They had planned, fasted, prayed but no action. Fasting, attending endless church programs and seminars , buying CDs, books, offerings and tithes are no substitute for taking physical action needed to bring about a desired change.99 % of what causes delays are personal , we shouldn't always attribute delays to spiritual attacks ,Jesus has taken care of all that. There are persons who aren't as spiritual as we are making a headway because they woke up to their responsibilities and are proactive in their journey to success without an entitlement mentality and desire to be pitied.
Good leaders constantly challenge us to take actions; parents are expected to do less talk and show their children the active aspect of God’s will. My teenage daughter- Asher once ask “Daddy how do I make money? I don’t want to be a financial liability to anyone when I grow up “And so I took her through some of the processes of manufacturing an advanced formulated multipurpose super cleaner (google : Mafito multipurpose super clean )  the Lord gave to me and we proceeded to a mall about 7 kilometers away , waited for two hours for the client ,I did some demonstrations and made sales, after which we proceeded to have lunch ;while eating I said “this is how to make money”
Yes ,there are challenges in life, it is normal, for Joshua  as a leader  the odds were against him as he was faced with many battles against fiercer and better equipped heathen armies with superior technology ( they had iron-made chariots) meanwhile Joshua led a brigade of zealous but untrained men and many times with low morale , supplies was also a problem and they were often overwhelmed by the size of their enemies  . However, Joshua’s unalloyed devotion to and supreme confidence in God’s Word gave him the boost to always forge on against much opposition; he failed sometimes but won more times. He was victorious and eventually led Israel to posses the Promised Land. In the same way we are expected to pray, constantly immersing our minds in God’s promises and take the first steps towards a victorious life while doing the best that we can; trusting God to work all things according to our good. He has brought you this far and will complete that which concerns you. Cast out the spirit of fear and timidity and in humility hold unto the promise the lord has made. The universe is yours for the taking.
Prayer : Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive grace to break the yoke of stagnation in Jesus name.
