THERE IS MIRACULOUS POWER IN THE WORD OF GOD
THERE'S POWER IN THE WORD
Rev.Michael Benson Ajayi
John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
This verse of Scripture reveals the truth about the formation of the human character or personality. It teaches that it is possible for the character of a person to be known before he or she is born through the words that were spoken and meditated upon knowingly or unknowingly prior to conception. Jesus Christ is the word of God metamorphosed into a human body by the word spoken and meditated upon by Mary (Luke 1:31-38)
The scriptures says in Jeremiah 1: 5 "Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations." meaning we all existed in a spiritual word format well known by God before we were conceived in our mother's wombs. In psalm 51: 5 "Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me." this implies that we became sinners from birth by reason of the word of sin in the hearts of our parents transferred from previous generations up to Adam . Likewise, it is by the purging of our hearts through a rebirth that we become righteous ,the scriptures says in Psalm 51:10" Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me." this means a person can be given a new personality by God through the Spirit of His word.
The word of God is the only thing with the capacity to recreate a personality in line with God's will. The bible is a compendium of the results of the social experiment between humanity and divinity. The scriptures says in 2 Pet.1: 21 "For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost." these words were written for the benefit of humanity and were given through the Holy Ghost for the transformation of our lives for the better 2Timothy 3:16-17 says "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works." The bible is best appreciated when read contextually, and best understood using a syntactically analytical approach . This method requires close analysis of each word in context and their relevance in society. Those who claim that the bible contradicts itself aren't sincere and schooled in the interpretation of scriptures.
The bible isn't the word of men as claimed by many but of God ( 1Thess.2:13) it is alive with life-transforming power (Joh6:63)it has creative capabilities (Psalm33:6,9 ) and it is what holds the universe together (Heb11:3)
It is the believer's weapon of warfare (Eph.6:17) the word of God in the mouth of a believer makes him or her a dangerous person against the forces of darkness (Jer.5:14,23:29) it is the word of God stored in our hearts that keeps the enemy in abeyance ( 1john2:14, Matthew 4:4-11, Heb.4:12) therefore, if a person is bound by any shameful addictive behaviour, declaring what the word of God says about that situation triggers a reaction that leads to the liberation of the person's soul from satanic bondage. For instance, the person bound by a drug or sex habit could declare " Satan , my body is the temple of the Holy Ghost and i am holy therefore you have no right to put sinful ideas in me, I reject your proposals and declare that he that the son of man has made free is free indeed. Through the cleansing power in the blood of Jesus Christ I decree and declare the destruction of every ungodly appetite for ( mention the habit ) and declare that the zeal of the house of the lord consumes me in Jesus name. I am free from ( mention the habit again ) and the sin of ( mention the name of the habit) shall not have dominion over me in Jesus name " this prayer is a combination of many scriptures such as Rom6:14,1Jn1:7, Jn8:36 and each one has the potential to liberate anybody from satanic addictions. That's why the greatest disservice anyone can do to themselves is by not meditating on scriptures ..
It's no use that a man is released from prison and yet moves around handcuffed. The teaching of the message of grace that says God understands our shortcomings and accepts us the way we are therefore He isn't interested in our morality is half truth and opens the doors of our homes to the enemy. Yes, God loves us unconditionally and accepts us the way we are but seeks for a better life for each one of us. The simple truth is that sin kills( Rom.6:23) marriages, businesses, jobs, ministries, communities etc. therefore, it will be a incomplete gospel to say that the lord will save us from sin but not from its effect. Jesus saves men from drug addictions, homosexuality, marital infidelities, fear, prostitution, poverty etc ,these are all effects of the sinful nature of the human heart. The scriptures says in John 8:36 "If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed." the word ' indeed ' is the Greek word 'ontos' which means 'really' this means one can truly be saved from an undesirable situation . Therefore, spiritual reforms translates into physical reforms: anything outside this is a fraud.
The gospel converts the soul (psalm 19:7a) through the word we receive the rejuvenation of our spirits (1Pet.1:23) through the word a corrupted soul can be cleansed (psalm 119:9)thus, every time we hear or read the word of God and receive it by faith into our hearts , ungodly appetites are destroyed (Jn.15:3) .If you don't like the way your life is, then feed your heart with God's Word and watch your life get transformed into the glorious life that Christ purchased for us on the cross. It tastes bitter at the beginning and then as sweet as honey ( Rev.10:9) Receive grace for a transformed life as you read this now in Jesus name.
