HOW TO DISCOVER THE WILL OF GOD

Ephesians 1:11 "In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:"
The above scriptures says that the born again christian has an inheritance from God, and what that means in reality is that there is no such thing as a poor person in the kingdom of God . Poverty is man made and it is as a result of not having sufficient knowledge of what the will of God is. The reason why there's an increase in poverty among Christians is because the level of ignorance of God’s word is on the increase.Much of what is practiced as worship is nothing but man- made religion. Religion is against divine wisdom and logic or rational thinking born out of divine revelation.
The early church by divine revelation operated on a economic system of commonwealth and as a result ,there was an equitable distribution of resources with zero poverty indices and peaceful coexistence among family members. However, the principal of capitalism which encourages ownership above commonwealth was introduced by Ananias and saphira , this is the doctrine which encourages the possession of resources meant for the majority by a few and this is being taught in churches today under the smoke screen of so-called 'prosperity and dominion' messages (Acts4:32-37 :Acts 5:1-10 )..This logic thrives on the creation of artificial scarcity of resources for the benefit of a few.
This results in a decline in the capacity of the church to deliver the gospel and leads to insecurity and destruction of lives and property as Ananias soon found out . Capitalistic ownership breeds inequality and insecurity in communities and unfortunately that's the driving force of most churches today. People are taught that a person's success is measured by the size of their bank account but according to God's will, a man's success is measured by how much of God's purpose he knows and has fulfilled.
It is a tragedy to excel in an area of life outside God's will. In a bid to be successful some persons have excelled in areas of life outside their divine purpose , this has left them feeling miserable because until one discover's God’s will melancholy is inevitable .
To know God’s will, one has to seek it above one's desires.In (luke22:42) Jesus' prayer was for the Father's will to be done and not His. We are to seek and trust God for the fulfillment of His will in our lives (Col2 1:9) and this is easily made manifest when we recognize that we have a part to play in doing the will of God from our hearts ( Ephesians 6:6) .
The Holy Spirit gives direction to those who seek God's will and this is revealed progressively ( John 16:13-14, John Mark 4:24,25 ) through the written word of God . The bible is His written will (2Timothy 3:16)and we are admonished to avoid seeking for His will outside scriptures because of the inherent danger of being misled into destructive heresies ( prov 28:9) . Therefore, a thorough study of scriptures is required while avoiding private interpretations (2 Timothy 2:15,2 Peter 1:20). While studying it, we will notice that certain verses speak specifically to us convincingly about our situation ( Psalm prov.6:22,23, Luke 24:32) and more clarity is attained through prayers and guidance from a mature christian ( Psalm 119:34,35,Acts 8:30-35) .
While seeking God’s will over a matter careful attention should be paid to the dreams we receive especially at night times ,this requires keeping the mind free from psychotropic substances which makes it hard to coordinate mentally. God sometimes speaks through dreams ( Numbers 12:6, Joel 2:28) and these dreams agree with scriptures. Abraham received a divine message through a dream ( Gen 15:12-16) Laban was warned not to harm Jacob in a dream (Gen 31:22-24) Daniel received revelations of the end times through a dream Dan7:1-28) . The wise men were warned in a dream concerning Jesus (Matt.27:19) .
Caution should be taken while receiving information through dreams because not all dreams are divine, some are as result of emotional imbalance and stress Ecc 5:3a, 7 others come as a result of being exposed to false prophets. They create fear in us which crystallizes into nightmares (Jer 23:25-27a,32) ( Jer29:8b). Whenever we pay attention to these false prophets and wrong teachings , we exposed ourselves to deceptive dreams which they exploit to their advantage and it leads to people being enslaved by these prophets. We should always guide our hearts with the word of God.
