GOD IS NOT ANGRY WITH YOU

By Rev.Michael Benson Ajayi
Luke 15:20 "And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him."
Isa 54:9.says".. I sworn that I would not be wroth with thee, nor rebuke thee."KJV this scriptures says God does not hate the sinner. Jesus Christ received on His person all the punishment and anger meant for all sinners including those yet unborn. And seeks to reconcile man back to God. Like the case of the prodigal , He longs to receive the sinner into His household of grace.
The only authentic solution to sin is a unilateral forgiveness . Man is imperfect and we can't attain perfection in God through an imperfect path. Man -made religion which is man's idea at being saved is fraught with imperfections. He is longing to cleanse and receive the repented sinner who comes to Him for forgiveness. God is more interested in having a one-of-a-kind relationship with you than anything else.
This parable was an indictment on the religious folks of Jesus' time for their brutal, insensitive, self-righteous and unforgiving attitude towards sinners. The older brother in this parable is symbolic of the religious bigots who subject themselves to a life of abstinence depriving themselves the joy from adventure and they think that others who didn't measure up to their standards were surely hated by God ( Col2:19-23). But God loves the world without reservation   and "Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners."
The self-centered, jealous and unforgiving older brother was definitely not operating in the love of God , they love themselves more than they do the sinners.  They were disappointed with the fact that Jesus gives sinners honour which was taught to be the exclusive right of religious folks. They can't accept being on equal footing with the repented sinner. The Pharisees valued their infinitesimal congregational rules and regulations more than a relationship with the heavenly father and were least interested in  rejoicing with a repentant sinner.
The pursuit of a life of vanity deprived both brothers of an opportunity of discovering a little known part of the father’s love.God is after one thing only: a relationship, The Pharisees were preoccupied with pleasing and receiving honour from men rather than seeking a relationship with God . As you read this now, receive grace for a stable relationship with your heavenly Father and be free from condemnation in Jesus name.
