LAST DAYS OF THE HUMAN AGE : THE RAPTURE

Rev.Michael Benson Ajayi
Matthew 24:42 AMP "Watch therefore [give strict attention, be cautious and active], for you do not know in what kind of a day [whether a near or remote one] your Lord is coming."
Matthew 24:30-36 gives us a chronological order of the event popularly known as the "rapture" to most Christian marking the beginning of the period of the reign of the antichrist on earth. It is a period of an oppressive ,totalitarian rule of the earth by Satan through an ungodly leader.  The scriptures says "At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all the nations of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory. And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other...."
In John 14:1-3  Jesus spoke of going to the father that He may create a place of residence for us.  This statement was made before He was crucified and resurrection and the residence is a place in the body of Christ and not physical mansions like earthly houses. Heaven has no security and weather problems and none shall be ashamed as in the garden of Eden therefore there won't be any need for privacy and an accommodation, nothing shall be hidden before God. That's why he said in John14: 3 "And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and  receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also."    Philippians 3:20-21 NIV says "But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body".
The scriptures describes this supernatural transition in  1 Corinthians 15: 52-53" In a moment, in  the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we  shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal  must put on immortality."1 Thessalonians 4:17says "Then we which are alive  and remain shall be  caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord." it is this process of being 'caught up ' that's referred to as the rapture.
The term "rapture" is not found in the Bible,it is derived from the Latin verb "Rapere" meaning "to carry off," or "to catch up." The Rapture theory believes that all non-believers on the Earth at the time will be left behind for the tribulation period which will last for seven years: the final seven years of the human age, until Christ returns to set up his earthly domain that will last for a thousand years known as the Millennium.
There are three main concepts regarding the period of the Rapture:
The Pre-Tribulation Rapture: Those who accept this perspective believe the Rapture will happen just before the tribulation period, at the beginning Daniel's seventieth week (Daniel 9:24-26). The Rapture will usher in the final seven years of this age. True followers of Jesus Christ will be transformed into their spiritual bodies in the Rapture and taken from the Earth to be in Heaven with God. Non-believers will be left behind to face severe tribulation as the antichrist prepares to take his place as' the Beast ' half way through the seven year period. According to this view, non-believers will still come to accept Christ, in spite of the Church's absence during this time, however, these new Christians will endure extreme persecution, to the point of death by beheading.
Post-Tribulation Rapture: this theory says that Christians will remain on the Earth as witnesses during the seven year tribulation era , until the very end of this age. According to this view, believers will be either removed or protected from the terrible wrath of God predicted toward the end of the seven years in the book of Revelation.
Mid-Tribulation Rapture:  this theory believes that Christians will be taken from the Earth to be in Heaven with God at some point during the middle of the seven year period of tribulation.
Regardless of whatever view a person holds , what matters most is that one has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, Romans 10: 9 says "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt  believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."
Prayer :Heavenly Father , forgive me for I have sinned against you : i believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation and I declare Him as Lord over my life .Amen
