IN THE SPIRIT OF UNITY

"How wonderful and pleasant it is when brothers live together in harmony!" Psalms 133:1 NLTBible 

  The cry for global peace is at an all time high with far reaching effect on  the stability of nations the world over . It is impossible to attain lasting prosperity in the absence of peace and unity. 

   The success of any enterprise to a very large extent is a function of the social network of those involved in it. Businesses tend to thrive faster on a well knitted business network or social capital .

   The business of spreading the Gospel of the kingdom of God is facilitated by a well knitted network of a body of believers. The church spreads faster when united. Disunited families struggle with untold poverty. The enemy knows this that is why he sows seeds of discord through willing persons to frustrate the process of winning of souls through the preaching of the Gospel   "Can two people walk together without agreeing on the direction?"Amos 3:3 NLTBible.   We should understand that we have a common goal of preaching the Gospel and regardless of the way and manner a person goes about it , we should for the sake of unity and peace encourage each other and work together. Apostle Paul speaking by the Spirit said " It’s true that some are preaching out of jealousy and rivalry. But others preach about Christ with pure motives. Those others do not have pure motives as they preach about Christ. They preach with selfish ambition, not sincerely, intending to make my chains more painful to me. But that doesn’t matter. Whether their motives are false or genuine, the message about Christ is being preached either way, so I rejoice. And I will continue to rejoice. "Philippians 1:15‭, ‬17‭-‬18 NLTBible

 This scripture teaches that the most important factor in our cooperate existence is the unity of purpose . A businessman is not bothered by how his goods are advertised, he knows that the more popular his product is the more sales he will make . 

   Paul was a businessman and understood this principle about marketing. Your adversary can be an instrument for your progress .Despite our differences " so it is with Christ’s body. We are many parts of one body, and we all belong to each other." Romans 12:5 NLTBible Some parts are not meant to be too close to each other ,for example ,the anus is far from the nose  , yet they are part of the same body. 

    We should pursue things that promote unity " So then, let us aim for harmony in the church and try to build each other up." Romans 14:19 NLTBible and avoid persons who promote disunity  " And now I make one more appeal, my dear brothers and sisters. Watch out for people who cause divisions and upset people’s faith by teaching things contrary to what you have been taught. Stay away from them." Romans 16:17 NLT Bible

    We should be advocates of peace " Make every effort to keep yourselves united in the Spirit, binding yourselves together with peace."Ephesians 4:3 NLTBible and " I appeal to you, dear brothers and sisters, by the authority of our Lord Jesus Christ, to live in harmony with each other. Let there be no divisions in the church. Rather, be of one mind, united in thought and purpose."1 Corinthians 1:10 NLTBible

Prayer : Heavenly father forgive me of my  sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation , I receive him as lord and saviour and  receive the Holy Ghost and power to promote unity and peace in Jesus name.

CONSEQUENCES OF LACK OF FAITH

Believe!”John 20:27 NLTBible     Faith is the guarantee of the manifestation an unseen reality . It is the reason behind the hope we have in God and the fulfilment of his promises. It is the substance ( title deed) of things hoped for ,the evidence of things not seen (Hebrew 11:1) .The Bible warns against not having faith in God. Lack of faith is equal to calling God a liar and untrustworthy. COMMON CAUSES OF DISUNITY.

Proverbs 29:22 NLTBible        Disunity is defined as : disagreement and conflict within a group. It is the greatest hindrance to the promotion of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Disunity creates an avenue for Satan to promote sin.       The causes of disunity are not farfetched ,they include : Unhealthy Crave for power or self- promotion. Whenever there is an unhealthy pursuit of influence in a family or group it results in resistance. Self-promotion gives birth to unfair practices and injustices. In Numbers 12: 1-15  Moses' sister Miriam and Aaron rebelled against him desiring to rule by force and in Numbers 16 :1-35 Korah led an insurrection against Moses desiring to be part of leadership.
