SPEAKING IN TONGUES CURES SPIRITUAL WEAKNESS AND UNBELIEF

1 Cor 14:18 NKJV “ I thank my God I speak with tongues more than you all; “

           Spiritual weakness among Christians is characterized by fear, uncertainty and the lack of peace. Truth is the only panacea for fear. Whenever truth is taught, peace is an inevitable outcome. The Word of God is truth (John17:17) and once it becomes the center of a person’s focus, he or she is automatically blessed with inner peace and gladness of the heart. The consciousness of God’s word concerning any situation evokes confidence and stability, the scriptures say in Ps 119:165 NKJV “Great peace have those who love Your law, And nothing causes them to stumble.” It is the lack of God’s word in the heart of many that is behind family and societal instability. Money cannot take the place of God’s Word in a marriage or family; unfortunately many think otherwise and the result isn’t far-fetched.

     After receiving Christ as lord and saviour , it is expedient  that we receive  a regular balanced diet of God’s word  that we may experience a healthy  growth spiritually , the scripture says  in 1 Peter 2:2 NKJV “as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby, “ The intensity or degree of grace a person operates in is directly proportional to the amount of revelation knowledge of Christ he or she has received and put to test , the scripture says in 2 Peter 3:18 NKJV “but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and forever. Amen”.

      The absence of the revealed knowledge of Christ in a person makes them susceptible to deception by religious entrepreneurs, whose sole aim is to exploit the weak for personal gains. We are admonished in Eph 4:14-15 NKJV “ that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head — Christ”

            Whenever we speak the truth, we experience a transcendental metamorphosis from our low human state into Jesus’ spiritual status .This happens in our spirit through the Holy Ghost. The scripture describes the Holy Ghost as the Spirit of truth (John14:17, 15:26, 16:13) Truth is a personality, He is Jesus Christ who also is the Living word of God (John17:17, John1:14). Truth has its language and distinct from any known language. It is the language spoken by the human irrational subconscious man. That’s why when He speaks through a dream at night; it really doesn’t make sense until interpreted by a person skilled in the language of Truth. The language of the Spirit of Truth is laterally inverted and diametrically opposed to that of human knowledge. For instance, it says, pray for your enemies, and give in other to receive: which is contrary to human logic.

                When we pray in the language of the spirit (tongues), we shouldn’t expect it to make logical sense because it transcends human logic; it is God’s personal language with which He created the universe. 1 Cor 2:14-15 NKJV” But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned”. It is normal to be mocked when we speak in tongues, however, that shouldn’t deter us because it is the key towards experiencing spiritual revival and miracles anytime , 1 Cor 14: 4 AMP says ”He who speaks in a [strange] tongue edifies and improves himself..” That’s why Paul was thankful in his proficiency at exercising this gift more than anyone: he achieved more than the early disciples.  It is God’s desire that all men speak in tongues. 1 Cor 14:5 AMP “Now I wish that you might all speak in [unknown] tongues”
