JUSTIFICATION BY GRACE

    By Rev.Michael Benson Ajayi
Phil. 3:9 "And be found him, not having my own righteousness, which is of the Law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith."
Our union with Christ Jesus, has moved us out of the place of guilt and God’s wrath and into a place of innocence before God and into a loving relationship with him. God is the Judge and He declares us “Not Guilty” because Jesus has done all that is necessary to guarantee our salvation. This is something religion can not do, with religion we are perpetually under the bondage of sin and guilt and no guarantee for  salvation.
God is the judge and He alone is the lawgiver, the scripture says in Ps. 50:6  "And the heavens proclaim his righteousness, for God himself is judge."He is able to save and also destroy (James, 4:12)and God judges through Jesus Christ according to the truth of the gospel ( Rom 2:16)
We were all guilty before God before being born again and the wages of sin is death (Rom 6:23). Those who have not received Jesus Christ are guilty before God because they rejected the redeeming grace that comes through Jesus Christ( Rom. 3:19,20 Gal 3:22)
Trespassing God’s commandments automatically means guilt before God ( Lev. 6:4) all it requires to be guilty before God is disobedience against one law ( Jas. 2:10-13) failure in one law means failure in all , this includes the misuse of God’s Name (Exd. 20:7; Deu. 5:11) Idol worship (Eze. 22:4) fighting against God’s people ( Isa. 26:9)
The old testament prescribed the confession of one's sins while offering a trespass offering as a cure for guilt (Lev. 5:46) but a person still struggled with condemnation of the conscience, the scriptures says in
.Heb 9:9-10 "This is an illustration for the present time, indicating that the gifts and sacrifices being offered were not able to clear the conscience of the worshiper."  The ignorance of the provisions of salvation by grace lives many persons with the burden of guilt
Sinning unintentionally meant one was guilty according to God's laws , the scriptures say Lev 4:13 "'If the whole Israelite community sins unintentionally and does what is forbidden in any of the Lord's commands, even though the community is unaware of the matter, they are guilty. "NIV also Lev 4:22 says  "'When a leader sins unintentionally and does what is forbidden in any of the commands of the Lord his God, he is guilty. and verse 28 says "'If a member of the community sins unintentionally and does what is forbidden in any of the Lord's commands, he is guilty. NIV
Guilt  can be transferred from generation to generation ( Exd. 34:7) children have been known to suffer from the effect of the drug addiction of their mother while in the mother's womb. This is an example of how a person could suffer the negative effects of the sins of the parents , persons have been known to  inherit the parents debts and enemies after their demise. This does not mean that a person can inherit a curse from his or her parents. The scriptures says in Ezek 18:20 "The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him."  KJV
When a person receives Jesus all guilt  are erased and they are declared not guilty because Jesus took all their sins ,present, past and future , the scriptures says in Col 1:13-14 "[The Father] has delivered and  drawn us to Himself out of the control and the dominion of darkness and has transferred us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, In Whom we have our redemption through His blood, [which means] the forgiveness of our sins." AMP
Prayer of commitment : Heavenly father, I make a commitment to live a life according to your will in true holiness and justification Amen
