THE ROLE OF WOMEN IN THE CHURCH AND SOCIETY

" The Lord gave the word, great was the company of those women that published it". Psalm 68:11
     The origin of the word 'company' is translated from the Hebrew word ‘tsaba', It is feminine in gender and means "a mass of women organized for warfare (an army ) Throughout Jesus’ ministry on earth, women played very important roles and He always  protected the rights of women. In one  instance a woman was caught in adultery and she was judged by the elders as deserving capital punishment .No mention was made of the man she had the affair with (John8:3-11). Jesus declared the woman free from the condemnation and she was rescued from certain death by stoning  according to the law of Moses.
             It was a woman who first made contact with the Messiah when He came to the earth and after His resurrection it was a woman who was first to see Him , this further reinforces the importance of women in God's redemptive plan for  humanity .     
            God's plan for men and women includes
1. Ruling Together: This means that the original intents for man and woman was they be rulers together in His kingdom.. The unique partnership is confirmed in I Cor. 11:13. The man is the spiritual head of the woman and they are to pray as a team. God intends that the woman fully participates in what the man does. The Scriptures describes the church as the bride with Jesus as head and describes the relationship that exists between a husband and the wife as that which exists  between the Father and  Christ  ( John 5:20, John 5:21)
 2. Responsibility in the administration of justice  : The scriptures says in 1 Cor 11:13
 Judge in yourselves: is it comely that a woman pray unto God uncovered? KJV the word 'yourselves' is a reference to both male and female and the word 'judge' is the Greek word ‘Krino', it means "to decide (Judicially), to punish, avenge, judge, act as a lawyer (barrister). This illustrates God’s intent for women as co-regent with their male counterpart  John 5:22, Eph. 5:30-32. Women are to willfully submit and obey the men not as being  inferior to but for the maintenance of law and order in the home (Gen. 3:16, Eph. 5:21-22.)  the scriptures says in Gal 3:28-29 "There is no longer Jew or Gentile, slave or free, male and female. For you are all one in Christ Jesus" indicating equality of the sexes before God.

CONSEQUENCES OF LACK OF FAITH

COMMON CAUSES OF DISUNITY.

Proverbs 29:22 NLTBible        Disunity is defined as : disagreement and conflict within a group. It is the greatest hindrance to the promotion of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Disunity creates an avenue for Satan to promote sin.       The causes of disunity are not farfetched ,they include : Unhealthy Crave for power or self- promotion. Whenever there is an unhealthy pursuit of influence in a family or group it results in resistance. Self-promotion gives birth to unfair practices and injustices. In Numbers 12: 1-15  Moses' sister Miriam and Aaron rebelled against him desiring to rule by force and in Numbers 16 :1-35 Korah led an insurrection against Moses desiring to be part of leadership.
