EXTRAORDINARY REASONS TO PRAY IN TONGUES (PT 1)

“ I would that you all spake in tongues”1st Cor. 14: 5.
Tongue(s) (Greek : glossa which means the supernatural gift of speaking in another language without its having been learnt.) it’s a gift of the Holy Spirit to the church through Christ designed to achieve the highest form of spiritual awareness. “ building yourself on your most holy faith, prayer in the Holy Ghost”. Jude 1:20.
What are the benefits of praying in the Holy Ghost(i.e Speaking in tongues).
The following is a  list of some of the indispensable and extraordinary benefits of communing with God in  spirit-given languages 
1. It is the Scriptural initial proof of the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. “And they all began to speck in tongues as the spirit gave them utterance. Acts2:4, Acts 10:46. “The holy spirit came on them and they spake in tongues and prophesied’ Acts 19:6
2. It is God’s desire for his children. God says : “ I would that you all spake in tongues’ 1st Cor. 14:5. Paul also declared “I thank you God I speak in tongues than you all (1st Cor. 14;18. kjv.)
Speaking in tongues to God through the Holy Spirits increases and strengthens the awareness of ones personal relationship and fellowship with God. Paul was very emphatic about his gratitude to God for the ability to speak in tongues, for this can only be given by God, through the speaking of such hallowed and intimate mysteries (1st Cor. 14:2).
       His gratitude stems from the fact that one could express this blessing  under any circumstance and intimately commune with God without the protocols and rituals of religious demands .We may pray, sing, give thanks, bless God in the spirit anytime and anywhere.
3. It is a detoxifying therapy : Before coming to know the lord, a lot of people pass through all manner of Satan- inspired situations, with debilitating memories that weighs down the soul :the rapes, murder, sexual and drug abuse, abortions and other shameful things life threw at us leave behind emotional scares which frustrates our worship haunting us daily. We yearn for help subconsciously but do not know how to present our prayers before God.
      In Romans 8:26 Paul tells us that one of our human weaknesses is that we do not always know what to pray for as we should. Too often in order to fight-off the resultant emotional trauma from these evil experiences , we plug into food,arguments, drugs and sex abuse and end up becoming prisoners to these pain relievers by being addicted to them with no cure in sight.
       However, the spirit overcomes this inadequacy for us, he searches our heart revealing what the root cause of the bitterness and heals us of the hurt by  praying for and with us “ according to the will of God” . He prays out and ventilates all the humiliation  , inhibition  and negative thoughts which hinders  us; and then brings us into the positive, powerful, beneficial purpose of God for our lives through regeneration of our minds. It is like formatting a virus-infested computer. Old things are soon pass away and over time we loose those painful memories.

CONSEQUENCES OF LACK OF FAITH

COMMON CAUSES OF DISUNITY.

Proverbs 29:22 NLTBible        Disunity is defined as : disagreement and conflict within a group. It is the greatest hindrance to the promotion of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Disunity creates an avenue for Satan to promote sin.       The causes of disunity are not farfetched ,they include : Unhealthy Crave for power or self- promotion. Whenever there is an unhealthy pursuit of influence in a family or group it results in resistance. Self-promotion gives birth to unfair practices and injustices. In Numbers 12: 1-15  Moses' sister Miriam and Aaron rebelled against him desiring to rule by force and in Numbers 16 :1-35 Korah led an insurrection against Moses desiring to be part of leadership.
