OVERCOME DISCOURAGEMENT

Isaiah 42:4" He shall not fail nor be discouraged, till he have set judgment in the earth: and the isles shall wait for his law."
A person is said to be discouraged when he or she has lost every sense of hope while pursuing a goal.It is the state of being dispirited . This could happen to anyone, in fact, the bible is full cases of men of repute who at one time of their walk with God became discouraged. Elijah became overwhelmed at one time in his ministry and he went into hiding and complained in 1kings 19:14 saying "And he said, I have been very jealous for the Lord God of hosts: because the children of Israel have forsaken thy covenant, thrown down thine altars, and slain thy prophets with the sword; and I, even I only, am left; and they seek my life, to take it away." He was oblivious of God's plan to assist him with seven thousand prophets. Like Elijah, you could be faced with a failing business, ministry,marriage or health and getting discouraged about your situation, however be rest assured that God has a plan to give you a glorious future.
Discouragement is caused by one's inability to see God's plans for our lives and a lack of faith in His word. There are steps to bring one out of discouragement and if followed in faith guarantees victory over discouraging situation.
When faced with adversity, always choose to walk by faith in God’s word instead of being ruled by fear. It is easy when we recognize that God is always on our side regardless of the situation.
The scriptures says in Hebrews 13:5 "Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee." Always give God the liberty to take care of the problems the way He deems fit, it mustn't be when we want it done, He is the lord of all and nobody tells Him what to do.
During your 'waiting' period the Devil will put all manner of thoughts into your head through what you see ,taste, hear and smell. You must resist Satan's efforts to confuse you by speaking back using God's word and not how you feel and he will flee from you. God's power which is at work in you is greater than Satan’s ability to discourage you. Depend on God to keep you strong through prayers and refuse to allow the devil keep you away from other Christians, fellowship with others is a major source of hope as their testimonies will serve as a faith booster. Always ask for the spirit of discernment whenever you get confused and avoid making sensitive decisions in a haste .
In a period of lack always remember God has given us talents to put to use and a man's gifts makes room for him. Do not allow your talents and skills become dormant. Money is often the reward of solving somebody's problem. Seek for ways on how to make the life of someone else better and they will reciprocate. One of the ways of doing this is by sharing our faith with others. Whenever we share our past victories in Christ with others while helping them to discover Him, we are once again reminded of how God has worked in our lives and this fills the heart with hope and joy .
Living a contented life in quietness makes it easier to manage crisis. We should change our priorities and avoid money and time wasting ventures no matter how noble they may seem. At such times we should be humble to let people know that we are not the solution to their problems but God is . We should shift our focus from being men pleasers to God pleasers.
The kind of persons we keep company with could either encourage or discourage us.Therefore, we should keep company with persons with victorious testimonies and avoid persons who'll destroy our self-esteem by creating the impression that God isn't with us or we are less favoured by God. God’s favour isn't in sizes and is permanent Romans 11:29 AMP says "For God's gifts and His call are irrevocable. [He never withdraws them when once they are given, and He does not change His mind about those to whom He gives His grace or to whom He sends His call.]spend more time with persons filled with God's word of hope, the scriptures says in Ecclesiastes 9:4 "For to him that is joined to all the living there is hope: for a living dog is better than a dead lion." spend time with person's with an optimistic and positive outlook on life.
You will never go wrong in benevolence in your low moments, do not quit giving to the poor and church family for missionary walk.Those who give find it easier to love, and faith requires love to work. Giving is an expression of one's love for God . Stay away from those who criticize the giving of tithes and offerings such persons frustrate grace and destroy our relationships with our spiritual guides and mentors , your faith in God's word is tied to your giving towards a righteous course (2Cor.8:1-5)
Stay on course by sticking to your assignments and being thoroughly prepared for the challenges ahead knowing that what you're passing through is in preparation for something greater, therefore, do not quit. Keeping to one's assignment requires being emotionally and physically fit. Engage in physical exercises with others and make sure you are in contact with your spiritual coach, who should be a sound teacher of God's word. Be thankful by constantly singing praises to God, this keeps anger away.
