NOT LIMITED BY IDENTITY CRISIS

By Rev.Michael Benson Ajayi
Ex 3:13 -14NIV “ Moses said to God, "Suppose I go to the Israelites and say to them, 'The God of your fathers has sent me to you,' and they ask me, 'What is his name?' Then what shall I tell them? God said to Moses, "I AM WHO I AM. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: 'I AM has sent me to you.'"
Mark 14:61-62 KJV  “But he held his peace, and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him, and said unto him, Art thou the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?  And Jesus said, I am:……”
A person’s identity is a summary of the office they occupy. It represents the power in that office. Whenever ,God wants to demonstrate His miraculous power , He always backs it up with His name . When Moses, was to embark on this humanly impossible task of the emancipation of the Israelites from Egyptian bondage , he knew no one would hid his call except it was backed up by divine authority and power therefore , God said , say I AM sent you . The word I AM  stands  for The almighty , therefore , it was by the power of the almighty that he led the Israelites out of the land of their captivity  .
A parallel scripture in the New Testament is found in the events leading to Jesus’ crucifixion, He was to do that which was humanly impossible, no human being has the power to atone for the sins of humanity, for it would require confronting the power of death and overcoming the gates of hell. Thus, when asked, what His identity was He alluded to His divinity by addressing Himself the same way He addressed himself before Moses. He said ‘I am’ and as proof of His divinity, the world would be witness to His power on the Day of Judgment. Mark 14:62 KJV says “And Jesus said, I am: and ye shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.”
The moment a person receives Jesus Christ as savior, they are  given the same identity as Jesus Christ .   John 1:12 KJV  “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:”  the church is the extension of God’s hands on earth. We have the backing of heaven in our dealings this status is higher than any earthly office, it is for  this reason the scriptures says blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.
In Christ your human identity and frailties  is of no relevance because in comparison to your heavenly identity it is insignificant. Walking in the consciousness of this should give a person all the confidence they need to face the challenges of life. An example of this is apostle Paul’s indefatigable companion   Epaphroditus   a name which means a devotee to the goddess Venus (Philippians2:25) his name did not hinder God’s blessings upon his  life. God calls you by your heavenly name which is ‘I am’ (2Chron7:14,Isaiah43:7).
Whatever man labels you as is irrelevant, what counts is that you are surnamed by God( Isaiah 45:4). While confronting situations we should realize we have heavens’ backing therefore, failure is no option . When we cast demons out , the demons do not see us as mere mortals but the embodiment of Jesus Christ , that’s why they are terrorized by a Christian who is fully aware of his or her identity . The sons of Sceva were ignorant of this truth and suffered in the hands of a demon possessed man (Acts19:16-16), They could not identify personally with Christ. Persons with identity crisis Christ in the church tend to be unstable and insecure before demonic forces ,they are made to go through endless deliverances for the same problem. This should not be so for our identity is in Christ and we are  backed by the host of heaven
Prayer : heavenly Father , forgive me of my sins against you , I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised for my salvation ,I accept Him as lord and savior and receive grace to confront and conquer of Satanic manipulation against me.
