JESUS CHRIST EQUATED HIMSELF WITH GOD

But Jesus answered them, “My Father has been working until now, and I have been working.” Therefore the Jews sought all the more to kill Him, because He not only broke the Sabbath, but also said that God was His Father, making Himself equal with God. For the Father loves the Son, and shows Him all things that He Himself does; and He will show Him greater works than these, that you may marvel." John 5:17‭-‬18‭, ‬20 NKJV

   The divinity of Jesus Christ has evoked so much debate by theologians and philosophers the world over . The bible contains sufficient information with regards to the divinity of Jesus Christ. 

     We can not work in the fullness of the power and authority  of the Holy Spirit until we come to the fullness of the knowledge about the divinity of Jesus Christ. Our potentials  and privileges are revealed through the knowledge of the divinity of Jesus Christ. 

    The bible says " as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue," II Peter 1:3 NKJV.  Note the last statement says " through the knowledge of Him"  The word 'through' is the Greek word 'dia' it means the ground or reason by which something is or is not done. 

Every gift , opportunity or privilege given to us is intended to help us know the divinity of Jesus Christ. 

   God revealed the divinity of Jesus Christ to the disciples and others . One of such persons was Peter who was once a sceptic , the bible says He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven." Matthew 16:15‭-‬17 NKJV

   Note , Jesus Christ did not discourage Peter from calling him " Son of the Living God " an

 acknowledgement of his divinity . At his crucifixion the officer in charge ,a Roman centurion discovered this truth "So when the centurion and those with him, who were guarding Jesus, saw the earthquake and the things that had happened, they feared greatly, saying, “Truly this was the Son of God!” Matthew 27:54 NKJV

   Prophet John the Baptist declared "  And I have seen and testified that this is the Son of God.” John 1:34 NKJV At a time when the majority of his disciples abandoned him due to his claim to divinity the bible says " Then Jesus said to the twelve, “Do you also want to go away?” But Simon Peter answered Him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. Also we have come to believe and know that You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”John 6:67‭-‬69 NKJV

   God is all powerful and is like the human mind and Jesus Christ is the voice or Word of the mind of God , they are inseparable and yet distinct  .The mind rules over the invisible and material world through spoken words . Jesus is the Word from the mind of the all powerful God . He speaks as the Father speaks because they are one. 

   "And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifested in the flesh, Justified in the Spirit, Seen by angels, Preached among the Gentiles, Believed on in the world, Received up in glory." I Timothy 3:16 NKJV

Prayer : Heavenly father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to work in unlimited favour . Amen

CONSEQUENCES OF LACK OF FAITH

COMMON CAUSES OF DISUNITY.

Proverbs 29:22 NLTBible        Disunity is defined as : disagreement and conflict within a group. It is the greatest hindrance to the promotion of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Disunity creates an avenue for Satan to promote sin.       The causes of disunity are not farfetched ,they include : Unhealthy Crave for power or self- promotion. Whenever there is an unhealthy pursuit of influence in a family or group it results in resistance. Self-promotion gives birth to unfair practices and injustices. In Numbers 12: 1-15  Moses' sister Miriam and Aaron rebelled against him desiring to rule by force and in Numbers 16 :1-35 Korah led an insurrection against Moses desiring to be part of leadership.
