ABUSE OF POWER COMES WITH SPIRITUAL CONSEQUENCES

'This is what the Sovereign Lord says: “Take off your jeweled crown, for the old order changes. Now the lowly will be exalted, and the mighty will be brought down.' Ezekiel 21:26 NLT

 ' The wicked will not rule the land of the godly, for then the godly might be tempted to do wrong." Psalms 125:3 NLT

   There is the tendency for persons entrusted with power to abuse the authority bestowed on them by the lord . No matter how little it is, power comes from the lord and we are accountable to the lord on how we use the power bestowed upon us. 

   The scripture is replete with examples of persons entrusted with power and how the lord responded to the abuse of power . This is recorded in the bible books of kings and Judges and it is written for our example.

     The book of Job gives us a clear picture of the consequences of the abuse of power. The abuse of power manifests in sexual harassments , illegal deductions in salaries , blockade in  promotion, threats and these   results in the inequitable distribution of resources , poverty , cultism ,prostitution , insecurity , sicknesses , marital failure , deaths and hatred for  God . Many persons have quit church because of the oppression of a persons who claim to be believers in Jesus Christ. . Abuse of power is synonymous with those who seek to mismanage resources . 

  The scriptures says  "/They will vomit the wealth they swallowed. God won’t let them keep it down. They will never again enjoy streams of olive oil or rivers of milk and honey. They will give back everything they worked for. 

    ..Their wealth will bring them no joy. For they oppressed the poor and left them destitute. They foreclosed on their homes.

" Job 20:15‭, ‬17‭-‬19 NLT

   "They were always greedy and never satisfied. Nothing remains of all the things they dreamed about. Nothing is left after they finish gorging themselves. Therefore, their prosperity will not endure. “In the midst of plenty, they will run into trouble and be overcome by misery. When they try to escape an iron weapon, a bronze-tipped arrow will pierce them. Their treasures will be thrown into deepest darkness. A wildfire will devour their goods, consuming all they have left. The heavens will reveal their guilt, and the earth will testify against them. This is the reward that God gives the wicked. It is the inheritance decreed by God.” Job 20:20‭-‬22‭, ‬24‭, ‬26‭-‬27‭, ‬29 NLT

    King David speaking by the Holy Ghost wrote " I have seen wicked and ruthless people flourishing like a tree in its native soil. But when I looked again, they were gone! Though I searched for them, I could not find them! Look at those who are honest and good, for a wonderful future awaits those who love peace."  Psalms 37:35‭-‬37 NLT The abuse of power results in a bleak future that affects the family . 

   The scriptures prescribes godliness and contentment as the way to attainment of long lasting peace . "But godliness actually is a source of great gain when accompanied by contentment [that contentment which comes from a sense of inner confidence based on the sufficiency of God]. " 1 Timothy 6:6 AMP

  Prayer : Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to overcome temptation in Jesus name.

CONSEQUENCES OF LACK OF FAITH

COMMON CAUSES OF DISUNITY.

Proverbs 29:22 NLTBible        Disunity is defined as : disagreement and conflict within a group. It is the greatest hindrance to the promotion of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Disunity creates an avenue for Satan to promote sin.       The causes of disunity are not farfetched ,they include : Unhealthy Crave for power or self- promotion. Whenever there is an unhealthy pursuit of influence in a family or group it results in resistance. Self-promotion gives birth to unfair practices and injustices. In Numbers 12: 1-15  Moses' sister Miriam and Aaron rebelled against him desiring to rule by force and in Numbers 16 :1-35 Korah led an insurrection against Moses desiring to be part of leadership.
