SHIFTING BLAMES HINDERS PROMOTION

 Gen 3:10 KJV “And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.” 

    Adam's fall in the garden of Eden was the worst event to ever occur in the history of humanity . It marked the beginning of the decay of the human character. Genesis 3:10 highlights the consequences of this fall, firstly, it brought about fear instead of faith and secondly, nakedness : a sense of vulnerability. Nakedness is the product of low self-esteem, emotional and physical insecurity. An overwhelming sense of vulnerability and fear results in buried potentials; with people living below God’s standard for their lives. 

    The setting in the Eden was for God to have a one-of-a-kind relationship with Adam founded on unconditional love , discipline and wisdom .Adam misunderstood this through arrogance and presumptuousness : Satan gave a twisted version of God’s character centered on selfishness and this metamorphosed into religion (man’s definition of divinity Genesis 3:5) demonstrated through an illogical approach to worship often devoid of character. This is behind the crisis among the religious. Man was not made perfect,but with room for improvement, this is the essence of growth. It gives provision for mercy.. Growth is a characteristic of a love-based relationship and mercy adds value to it.

     Adam fell into Satan’s trap of blame –shifting. It is a tactic of always pushing fault on someone else. The psychology behind responsibility attribution is that it constitutes a strong motive for the delegation of a decision and a basis for predicting punishment. In Adam's sight ,God was to be blamed for his failure and therefore deserved punishment . Genesis  3:12 KJV says “And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat.” Likewise Eve blamed Satan in Genesis  3:13 KJV “And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat.” By so doing they rebelled against divine authority by eating the forbidden fruit . Thus , there was a vacuum in governance ,Satan understanding the implications of blame-shifting refused to blame anyone and the mantle of leadership over Eden was taken from Adam and given to Satan.  

     This is what happens when a husband blames God for his wife's errors .Satan automatically takes over the home through false religion - false prophets have taken over the governance of many homes . Wife's from such homes fear Satan and his demons more than they fear God and usually constitute the majority in 'prayer houses' Blame-shifting is the main reason behind the increase in marital failure. Train your children to take responsibility for their actions and avoid murmuring .

     Blame-Shifting takes away the power to exercise divine authority and hinders prayers from being answered . Responsibility and leadership compliment each other , Adam disqualified himself from being the caretaker of Eden. Complaining and being hyper-critical of other's makes a person sound petty, small , weak, stripping him or her off leadership virtues and makes them ineffective in capacity building and eventually lose relevance. 

    The scriptures speak of Adam and Eve being thrown out of the Garden of Eden (Genesis 3:24) it did not mention Satan. He took over their position. Through Christ we are restored back to our rightful place in God (Colossians 3:3). We should always look for ways to claim responsibility and declare “hold me accountable” This makes us more relevant ,boosts our self –esteem.and changes our circumstances for our good . That's what intercessions, prayers, supplications are meant for and this is how greatness is achieved. If Adam had apologized and claimed responsibility, he would have been retained in the Garden of Eden. Reconciliation is a prerequisite for meaningful progress
