SPIRIT- INSPIRED LIVING
The word 'worship' is the Greek word latreuō ,it means to perform sacred services, to offer gifts, to worship God in the observance of the rites instituted for his worship. God is spirit and desires worship in spirit and in truth .
The relationship between the believer in Jesus Christ and God is patterned after that between God and Abraham . They had a one-of-a- kind relationship. Abraham communicated with God on a one- on- one basis ,that is what he desires of all mankind . On one occasion the lord wanted to reveal himself to Abraham through spirit inspired rituals ,the scriptures says " But Abram replied, “O Sovereign Lord , how can I be sure that I will actually possess it?” The Lord told him, “Bring me a three-year-old heifer, a three-year-old female goat, a three-year-old ram, a turtledove, and a young pigeon.” So Abram presented all these to him and killed them. Then he cut each animal down the middle and laid the halves side by side; he did not, however, cut the birds in half. Some vultures swooped down to eat the carcasses, but Abram chased them away. As the sun was going down, Abram fell into a deep sleep, and a terrifying darkness came down over him. Then the Lord said to Abram, “You can be sure that your descendants will be strangers in a foreign land, where they will be oppressed as slaves for 400 years. After the sun went down and darkness fell, Abram saw a smoking firepot and a flaming torch pass between the halves of the carcasses." The smoking firepot and flaming are symbolic of the spirit of wisdom and revelation in Jesus Christ (Eph1:17) This was Abraham's source of faith to do great exploits .It is available to us too.
Genesis 15:8-17 NLT in the new testament scripture of Acts we see a spirit-inspired ritual by the prophet Agabus "Several days later a man named Agabus, who also had the gift of prophecy, arrived from Judea. He came over, took Paul’s belt, and bound his own feet and hands with it. Then he said, “The Holy Spirit declares, ‘So shall the owner of this belt be bound by the Jewish leaders in Jerusalem and turned over to the Gentiles.’”
Acts of the Apostles 21:10-11 NLT
This prophet had earlier foretold of a famine "One of them named Agabus stood up in one of the meetings and predicted by the Spirit that a great famine was coming upon the entire Roman world. (This was fulfilled during the reign of Claudius.) Acts of the Apostles 11:28 NLT.
In Mark 6:13 the disciples of Christ by the leading of the Holy Ghost anointed the sick with the anointing oil and they were healed.
The operating principles of the spirit - led believer is premised on a living faith
"And we have received God’s Spirit (not the world’s spirit), so we can know the wonderful things God has freely given us....we do not use words that come from human wisdom. Instead, we speak words given to us by the Spirit, using the Spirit’s words to explain spiritual truths. But people who aren’t spiritual can’t receive these truths from God’s Spirit. It all sounds foolish to them and they can’t understand it, for only those who are spiritual can understand what the Spirit means .." 1 Corinthian .2;12-14 NLT To the spirit-led believer miracles ,signs and wonders are simply part of their daily experience.
Prayer: Heavenly father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation, I receive him as Lord and savior and receive the Holy Ghost and power to work in signs and wonders in Jesus name.
