YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE UNDER THE BONDAGE OF FEAR

Rev.Michael Benson Ajayi
Psalm 31:13-14 "For I have heard the slander of many: fear  was on every side: while they took counsel together against me, they  devised to take away my life. But I trusted in thee, O Lord: I said, Thou  art my God. "
The English dictionary defines fear as" an unpleasant emotion caused by the belief that someone or something is dangerous, likely to cause pain, or a threat" Fear is a common occurrence but should not be allowed to dominate our lives.  There is a natural fear designed to keep us alive such as the sudden reaction to the sound of an explosion or the sight of an approaching vehicle that has lost control :this is a natural fright ,we are designed to respond to dangerous stimuli.  It  protects us from harm and improves character. For the fear of punishment a student could decide to do his or her homework and this would lead to discovering the benefits getting homework done on time.
However, there is the evil spirit of fear which terrorizes and paralyzes its victim. The scriptures says in 2Timothy 1: 7 "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. " it hinders  meaningful progress. Faith requires taking bold steps under the Lord’s instructions and fear negates acts of faith. It leads to stagnation (Matthew 8:26) and it is those who have overcome it that have made significant headway and gains in life.
Fear leads to self imprisonment and bondage , the scriptures says in Proverbs 29:25 "The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the Lord shall be safe. "  dreams have been truncated for fear of what people would say and other imaginary reasons. Relationships and marriages have been destroyed and some put on hold because of an imaginary sense of defeat and insecurity caused by the spirit of fear.  The spirit of fear speaks with the voice of the devil and his purpose is for us to reject the word of God.It is caused by an unrepentant heart  (1Jn5:18)
Fear destroys the body's immune system leading to terminal  diseases such as hypertension, stroke, insomnia, eating disorder, irritability, lack of sexual drive, impotence, tumors, cancers, miscarriages, eye defects ,hallucinations, suicidal tendencies  and other major complications in health that has led to the death of many persons( 1Jn.4:18,Lk 21:26). We must deal with the spirit of fear to receive our healing.  The scriptures says in Job 4:14 "Fear came upon me, and trembling, which made all my bones to shake." Fear weakens our resolve to fight for what rightfully belongs to us leading to major defeat, Joshua 2:11  "And as soon as we had heard these things, our hearts did melt, neither did there remain any more courage in any man..." and Joshua 5: 1 "And ....that their heart melted, neither was there spirit in them any more, because of the children  of Israel." many Christians have given up on their convictions about the lord and compromised on their standards because of fear. A lot of Christians find it hard to preach the gospel openly because of intimidating fear, Peter denied Jesus because of fear (Matthew 26:69-74) and for the fear of the Jews many persons could not openly speak about Christ likewise for the fear of what people will say many Christians today find it hard to openly speak about their faith. This  leads to living in disobedience and deprives many from the rewards of winning souls for the kingdom of God. The scriptures says if we are willing and obedient, we shall eat the good of the land (Isaiah 1:19)
Many preachers for the fear of certain members of the congregation refuse to teach sound scriptural doctrine and have brought a snare upon themselves and the congregation (1Sam.15:24,) The truth of the gospel can't be preached in fear, the scriptures says in Jeremiah 1:8 "Be not afraid of their faces: for I  am with thee to deliver thee, saith the Lord. " God instructed the prophet to preach the gospel with boldness . Extreme fear leads to painful cramps and paralysis ( Psalm 48:6,52:5) and unnecessary and risky journeys   ( (Lev.26:17,36) and if unchecked that which we fear eventually materializes (Job.3:25,prov 10:24) . Fear is faith but in the reverse. Whatever we anticipate long enough whether good or bad eventually comes to pass, that's why we must not allow fear take control of our hearts.
God has given us authority over evil spirits and we should trust Him to protect us from evil.  Whenever we are threatened by evil men instead of mediating on their threats, we should meditate on God's promises to preserve us. Psalm 56:3-4 says "What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.  In  God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me." and Psalm 23:4 says "Yea, though I walk  through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. " We should memorize these scriptures and others and command the spirit of fear to be silent in Jesus name. Don't be afraid God is with you to deliver you ( Deut1:29-30). As you make Jesus the lord of your life and read this now receive, grace for boldness to possess your  possessions in Jesus name. Prayer +234 8098536911, +234 8035536911.
