JESUS CHRIST : THE EXPRESS IMAGE OF GOD

"And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.” 1st Timothy 3:16
Jesus Christ is the image of the invisible God, meaning God Himself ,He is the substantial and express image of God's person . It is like a man making a video recording of himself while singing or an Android robot containing every information about him. The information in the video or robot is same as the man himself. 1Timothy 3:16 says Jesus Christ is Almighty God!
Hebrew 1:8,10 says "But unto the son he saith, ‘Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom’…And, ‘Thou,Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands.’”
Jesus Christ said in John 10:30 "I and my Father are one.” Like the video or Android robot , the man and the recordings of himself are one regardless of the manifested format .
1John 3:16 says God laid down His life for us "Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down His life for us. It was God's blood that was shed on the cross. Acts 20:28 says "… feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.” It is just like blowing atmospheric air into a balloon does not make the air non-atmospheric.It is the same.
1John 5:7 says "For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father,the Word, and the Holy Ghost and these three are one. .” and Philippians 2:5-8 "…Christ Jesus ....being in the Form of God , thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.”
After His resurrection Jesus appeared before doubting Thomas who declared "And Thomas answered and said unto him [Jesus], My Lord and my God.” John 20:28. At his execution , the scriptures says "And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.”(Acts 7:59)
The old testament prophet Isaiah has the revelation of Jesus' divinity , he said in Isaiah 9:6
' "For unto us a child is born , unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, the Almighty God, the Everlasting Father , The Prince of Peace." Hebrews 1:1-3 says “God…hath in these last days spoken unto us by his son…who being the rightness of his glory, and the express image of His Person ” The disciples yearned to see God haven seen the extraordinary demonstration of the power of God through Jesus ,the scriptures says "Philip saith unto him, ‘Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us.’ Jesus saith unto him, ‘Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me Philip? and His response to them was "he that hath seen me hath seen me hath seen the Father ....how sayest thou then, ‘Shew us the Father?”” (John14:8-9)
We must understand that God is mysterious and His ways are far beyond human comprehension , however , He reveals His divine nature through the data in scriptures , God is the same as His word John 1:1, 14 kjv says "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God .And the Word was made flesh , and dwelt among us ,(and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.” Therefore , when we receive Christ, we are filled with God's presence through the Holy Spirit , the religious folks then like many now could not comprehend this mystery , they were sore vexed by Jesus' claim to divinity , He said in (John 8:58) “Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was born, I am.” . That is to say He is the I am that I am : the name God introduced Himself by to the Jews through Moses. He went on to say If you don't believe I am He , you shall perish in your sins ,meaning , salvation is based on believing in Jesus' divinity. 2nd Corinthians 4:4 says " Christ ..is the image of God .." Prophet John (the baptist) acknowledged Jesus' divinity when he said prepare ye the way of the Lord, make straight in the desert a highway for our God.”(Mark 1:3) a prophesy from prophet Isaiah (Isaiah 40:3) If you have Jesus Christ in your heart , you have everything you need, He owns the universe.
Prayer : Heavenly Father, forgive me of my sins against you, I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation, I receive him as lord and saviour and receive grace for an undeniable manifestation of God's glory in every area of life in Jesus name.
