YOU ARE FREE FROM CONDEMNATION - PART 2

   By Rev. Michael Benson Ajayi
1 Cor 5:7 KJV ” Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us”
The Passover lamb was an offering dedicated to God as a memorial of the night the Israelites were delivered from the angel of death while in the land of their captivity (Exodus 12:1-20) The lord prescribed  that on the night of their exit from Egypt ,each family should kill a lamb for an atonement sacrifice. They had four days to prepare the lamb and that afternoon they were to kill it as a sacrifice not upon an altar, but as a religious ceremony, acknowledging God's mercy in delivering them from the plagues inflicted upon the oppressive Egyptians.
The lamb so slain was to be to eaten, roasted with unleavened bread and bitter herbs, and eaten in a haste and there were not to be any leftovers; for God would have them depend on him for their daily bread and not to take thought for the morrow. He was to be their sole source of sustenance. .
Before eating the flesh of the lamb, they were to sprinkle the blood upon the doorposts, thus distinguishing their houses from those of the Egyptians, and so their first-born were secured from the sword of the angel of death, who was mandated to slay all first-born both of man and beast, and judgment executed upon the principalities of Egypt( Num 33:4, Ex 18:11)
For the protection of Israel from this plague, they were commanded to sprinkle the blood of the lamb upon the door-posts, a symbol of submission to divine authority and faith in God.  The blood of sprinkling upon the doorpost which is also reenacted in the church through the holy communion bread and wine is the born again Christian’s security in times of common calamity; it marks them for God, pacifies the conscience, and gives boldness for access to the throne of grace, and is their wall of protection and separation from the rest of the world.
The feast of unleavened bread was to be observed annually as a feast of the Lord in their generations. There was much of the gospel in this ordinance. The paschal lamb is a type of Christ; our Passover, (1 Cor 5:7) He is the Lamb of God (John 1:29 ) Christ offered up himself as a lamb without spot (1 Peter 1:19.) though He was pronounced innocent by the judge who eventually condemned Him.
Reminiscent of the Jewish Passover offering, Christ was crucified at the Passover, and He entered into Jerusalem four days before, the very day that the paschal lamb was set apart. God placed His wrath upon Him which is likened to a burning fire and Christ took away our curses and became our curse–breaker (Ga.3:13) this is the reason you must not accept any teaching that says you are under a curse. You are immune to curses.
The blood was sprinkled on the lintel and not the threshold to avoid trampling on the blood and making light of the redemption offering of Christ upon the soul of the born again Christian. The blood, was a means of the preservation of the Israelites from the destroying angel, similarly the blood of Christ sprinkled upon our consciences, is our protection from the wrath of God, the curse of the law, and the damnation of hell, Rom 8:1 AMP “THEREFORE, [there is] now no condemnation (no adjudging guilty of wrong) for those who are in Christ Jesus, who live [and] walk not after the dictates of the flesh, but after the dictates of the Spirit.  The scriptures also says in John 3:18 AMP “He who believes in Him [who clings to, trusts in, relies on Him] is not judged [he who trusts in Him never comes up for judgment; for him there is no rejection, no condemnation — he incurs no damnation]; but he who does not believe (cleave to, rely on, trust in Him) is judged already [he has already been convicted and has already received his sentence] because he has not believed in and trusted in the name of the only begotten Son of God. [He is condemned for refusing to let his trust rest in Christ's name.” ,You may have suffered rejection by men however , God will never reject you. He has great plans for you.
Prayer : Heavenly Father, Forgive me for my sins against you, I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation, I receive him as lord and saviour and receive grace to overcome guilt and shame in Jesus name. Amen.
