PROTECTION AGAINST YOUTHFUL LUSTS

Ecclesiastes 11:9 "Rejoice, O young man, in thy youth; and let thy heart cheer thee in the days of thy youth, and walk in the ways of thine heart, and in the sight of thine eyes: but know thou, that for all these things God will bring thee into judgment. Therefore remove sorrow from thy heart, and put away evil from thy flesh: for childhood and youth are vanity."
God wants every young person to live a happy life with fulfilled expectations. Young people are adventurous and it is God's will that they enjoy all that He has created .Youthful vigor should be harnessed for creative and productive ventures. It is against this backdrop that young people are admonished to depend on God for knowledge and acknowledged Him in all their ways (Prov.3:1-4) . This means, no major project should be embarked upon without first seeking God's will. These projects include what type of education should one acquire, choice of a life partner, jobs,businesses , ministry etc. ,
Teenagers often struggle with chronic identity crisis, they are unsettled with their occupations and vocations and as result most vulnerable to peer pressure in the absence of a godly mentor . This is when a person needs directions the most. It is no wonder that young persons find it hard to be committed to a course and easily fall prey to unscrupulous individuals who exploit them for cheap gain. That's why youths are advised to go God’s way (Prov.3:1-4). They should seek wisdom for excellence and protection against life's pitfalls and this is attained through the reverential fear of the Lord (Prov.1:7,Prov 9:10-11,Prov.15:33)
It is unwise to despise instructions (Prov.1:7) if sustainable success is to be attained.The scriptures says in Proverbs 13:13" Whoso despiseth the word shall be destroyed: but he that feareth the commandment shall be rewarded." In order to avoid destruction ,a youth must constantly seek the undiluted word of God .Sound doctrine leads to a Christlike character that's well sort after.It is unwise to despise the lord’s discipline (Prov 3:11-12, Heb.12:5-11) They should avoid the company of those who despise discipline Proverbs 12:1 NLT says "To learn, you must love discipline; it is stupid to hate correction." Before proficiency is attained in business,marriage, ministry one must first be a student of the school of discipline. Discipline teaches a person how to be at the right place, with the right people, at the right time, doing the right thing. Doing the right thing at the right time but with the wrong persons results in failure and poverty (Prov. 13:18) To hate discipline is to hate oneself (Proverbs 15:31-32). Those who insist that we receive discipline truly love us (Prov.13:24)
Satan assigns persons to entice young people away from the place of discipline through offers of cheap sex, political influence, quick -fix financial schemes. The scriptures admonishes youths not to concede or yield to such enticement, Proverbs 1:10 NLT says "My child, if sinners entice you, turn your back on them!" and verse 15 says "My child, don’t go along with them! Stay far away from their paths." youths who engage in cultism would not escape God's judgment, it never ends well with such persons (Proverbs 1:10-19) therefore, youths are advised to avoid cultists (Proverbs 4:14-15). God hates cultism.
Youths should stand firm against any inducement from negative peer pressure, this is easy when one is accountable to a godly leader (1Cor.15:58,Exodus 20:12,Eph 6:1-3) and being armed as a soldier of Christ (Ephesians.6:10-18) and fleeing the evil desires of youth (2Tim.2:22).
Youth who have imbibed the Christlike discipline eventually experienced promotion, like Daniel and his three teenage friends Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego Daniel 1:8-9,Daniel3:16-18) who for their moral uprightness were promoted into the executive counsel of the Babylonian empire regardless of their alien status.
Prayer : Heavenly Father forgive me for my sins against you, I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive grace for protection against evil influence in Jesus name.
