THE WOMAN'S POSITION IN THE COMMUNITY: NOT INFERIOR

" The Lord gave the word, great was the company of those women that published it". Psalm 68:11
The word 'company' in this scripture is the Hebrew word ‘tsaba', It is feminine in gender and means "a mass of women organized for warfare (an army ) Women played very important roles in Jesus' earthly ministry and He always protected the rights of women. In one instance a woman was caught in adultery and she was judged by the elders and sentenced to death.No mention was made of the man she had the affair with (John8:3-11) he was apparently exonerated by the male dominated judiciary. Jesus declared the woman free from the condemnation and she was saved from certain death by stoning according to the law of Moses.This was one of the reasons why many women followed Jesus Christ
It was a woman who first made contact with the Messiah after His resurrection , and this further reinforces the importance of women in God's redemptive plan for humanity .
God's plan for men and women includes: ruling together ,this means that His original intent for men and women is for them to rule together in His kingdom.. This unique partnership is confirmed in I Cor. 11:13. The man is the spiritual head of the woman and they are to pray as a team just like the president and vice president of a nation. In the absence of the president, the vice can equally play the role of the president. God intends that the woman fully participates in what the man does. The Scriptures describes the church as the bride with Jesus as head and describes the relationship that exists between a husband and the wife as that which exists between the Father and Christ ( John 5:20, John 5:21)
Women and men are to be responsible in the administration of justice . The scriptures says in 1 Cor 11:13 'Judge in yourselves: is it comely that a woman pray unto God uncovered? KJV the word 'yourselves' is a reference to both male and female and the word 'judge' is the Greek word ‘Krino', it means "to decide (Judicially), to punish, avenge, judge, act as a lawyer (barrister). This illustrates God’s intent for women as co-regent with their male counterpart John 5:22, Eph. 5:30-32. Women are to willfully submit and obey the men not as being inferior to but as an example for the maintenance of law and order in the home (Gen. 3:16, Eph. 5:21-22.) the scriptures says in Gal 3:28-29 "There is no longer Jew or Gentile, slave or free, male and female. For you are all one in Christ Jesus" indicating equality of the sexes before God." A society can not achieve its best if women are relegated to the background. A mother cannot be inferior to her son because of his gender therefore, it is illogical to say women are inferior to men. The world will come to an end if women seize to exist and vice versa. The role of the woman is unique and compliments that of men, therefore , there should be no bases for competition or comparison .
