SPIRITUAL WARFARE: QUENCHING FLAMING SPIRITUAL ARROWS

     Ps 57:4 My soul is among lions: and I lie even among them that are set on fire, even the sons of men, whose teeth are spears and arrows, and their tongue a sharp sword. KJV
Flaming arrows are words sent by a high powered delegation to scare us into abandoning our faith in God . David encountered this severally Ps 64:3-8 says ” Who whet their tongue like a sword, and bend their bows to shoot their arrows, even bitter words: That they may shoot in secret at the perfect: suddenly do they shoot at him, and fear not. They encourage themselves in an evil matter: they commune of laying snares privily; they say, Who shall see them?  They search out iniquities; they accomplish a diligent search: both the inward thought of every one of them, and the heart, is deep. But God shall shoot at them with an arrow; suddenly shall they be wounded.  So they shall make their own tongue to fall upon themselves: all that see them shall flee away. KJV
Ps 37:14-15 The wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow, to cast down the poor and needy, and to slay such as be of upright conversation.  Their sword shall enter into their own heart, and their bows shall be broken. KJV The enemy’s  plans shall work against them .
 PURPOSE OF THE SWORD IS TO ATTACK YOUR FAITH       2 Kings 19:10-11 Thus shall ye speak to Hezekiah king of Judah, saying, Let not thy God in whom thou trustest deceive thee, saying, Jerusalem shall not be delivered into the hand of the king of Assyria  . Behold, thou hast heard what the kings of Assyria have done to all lands, by destroying them utterly: and shalt thou be delivered? KJV
      In the above scripture, Satan was speaking to God’s people through the king of Assyria  like he did to Jesus through the Apostle Peter , he always gives us reasons why we would fail and not trust God's word , it is an attack on our confidence in God’s word . Today he speaks through teachers, preachers , family members ,friends , radio, TV, newspapers and social media . He also speaks through persons we hold in high esteem to ensure that the message is heartfelt and driven home. Sometimes, we need to reduce our exposure to channels synonymous with bad news which works contrary to our faith. This is a very effective way to quench the arrows of the wicked. And it has to be deliberate and immediate. Excessive exposure to the world’s media destroys faith because of the volume of Bad news emanating from them.
    Regular and attentive Church attendance is the most effective way to quench the arrows of the wicked like Hezekiah did. Habitually staying away from the congregation of God’s people gives Satan the advantage in spiritual warfare.  Hezekiah turned to God’s word  and through a corporate prayer with God’s servant (Isaiah) he received the word leading to his salvation .  2 Kings 19:14 says “ And Hezekiah received the letter of the hand of the messengers, and read it: and Hezekiah went up into the house of the Lord, and spread it before the Lord”. KJV And the Lord spoke against the king of Assyria  and fought on behalf of His people .2 Kings 19:33-35 says “By the way that he came, by the same shall he return, and shall not come into this city, saith the Lord. For I will defend this city, to save it, for mine own sake, and for my servant David's sake.  And it came to pass that night, that the angel of the Lord went out, and smote in the camp of the Assyrians an hundred fourscore and five thousand: and when they arose early in the morning, behold, they were all dead corpses.”  KJV The lord shall fight your battles and grant you peace like a river.
Prayer : Heavenly Father , forgive me of my sins against you , I believe that Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation , I receive him as lord and savior and receive grace for total recovery in Jesus name.

CONSEQUENCES OF LACK OF FAITH

COMMON CAUSES OF DISUNITY.

Proverbs 29:22 NLTBible        Disunity is defined as : disagreement and conflict within a group. It is the greatest hindrance to the promotion of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Disunity creates an avenue for Satan to promote sin.       The causes of disunity are not farfetched ,they include : Unhealthy Crave for power or self- promotion. Whenever there is an unhealthy pursuit of influence in a family or group it results in resistance. Self-promotion gives birth to unfair practices and injustices. In Numbers 12: 1-15  Moses' sister Miriam and Aaron rebelled against him desiring to rule by force and in Numbers 16 :1-35 Korah led an insurrection against Moses desiring to be part of leadership.
