PREPARATION PRECEDES BLESSINGS (1)

The born again Christian is blessed with all spiritual blessings and the manifestations of these blessings are conditioned on we taking the necessary steps of faith.  Faith without work (necessary and specialized skills) is dead. A pot of soup can only taste good when the ingredients are properly prepared in the right proportions. Left by themselves, they do not taste good and are poisonous to the body, likewise waiting for God to manifest our blessings without taking corresponding actions is detrimental to our wellbeing.
     The scriptures say 2 Kings 3:16 – 20 NIV   … and he said, "This is what the Lord says: Make this valley full of ditches…The next morning, about the time for offering the sacrifice, there it was — water flowing from the direction of Edom! And the land was filled with water.” there was no water until ditches were dug. God does not give instructions we cannot follow, if you desire a job, start by at least preparing for an interview, wake up early, do exercise,  get your clothes ready, and give yourself a haircut, study about the company you desire to work in and so on.
     In 2 Kings 4:3-4 Elisha said, "Go around and ask all your neighbors for empty jars. Don't ask for just a few.  Then go inside and shut the door behind you and your sons. Pour oil into all the jars, and as each is filled, put it to one side." NIV the poor widow had to prove her readiness for increase by gathering empty vessels, they became filled with oil and she was instructed to sell them and she prospered. 

    To start a business one has to be prepared, start with what you have, you must not have money to start a business, all that is needed is a sustainable money making idea. Study about how great business owners started, attend seminars, read books and articles on business and money, get a mentor and avoid networks that promise short cuts to success. Prov 28:20 “The man who wants to do right will get a rich reward. But the man who wants to get rich quick will quickly fail. TLB
    The blessing of good health requires preparation, the scriptures say in 2 Kings 5:10 NIV “Elisha sent a messenger to say to him, "Go, wash yourself seven times in the Jordan, and your flesh will be restored and you will be cleansed." until the leper dipped himself seven times he could not be healed. Your healing may require taking some unpleasant steps such as dieting, change of friends, change of residence or work, doing more exercise, watching less TV and less internet browsing and so on .
      The process of receiving a harvest requires preparing the grounds Hos 10:12 NIV Sow for yourselves righteousness, reap the fruit of unfailing love, and break up your unplowed ground; for it is time to seek the Lord, until he comes and showers righteousness on you.”  , if you intend to open a branch of your business or ministry in an area, it will require having contacts in such areas, making friends through social media has made this easier and using your school friends network, be active in social groups, this makes branching out easier. The farmer must prepare his grounds before planting only then is a harvest is guaranteed.
